Suddenly, goosebumps drew her skin as she heard his cold voice. Colder than the cold weather. She hugged herself tighter. “M-Mr. Goddard…” Tons of questions plagued her head, but one thing bothered her. What is she doing inside his room?
She couldn’t remember anything. What happened? Few questions wanted to scape her lips. Ask him. But she went frozen to where she was standing right now. What he had done to her? She can’t feel nothing wrong about her body.
“Can you remember anything?” he asked in a very calm tone. He walked inside and sat comfortably on a black sofa inside the huge room. He took a magazine and read it.
She tried to remember things. Her lips twisted as she remembered what happened. The two guys brought her on a narrow and dark road. They want something from her. Sexually. But she refused them. She received a hard punch on her stomach that tossed her unconscious. She just wanted to go out for lunch but she ended up gotten into trouble again. Now, she’s asking herself stupid things. Why I am too prone being in trouble? Despite of that thoughts, she looked at him confused but he didn’t give her a look. He remained seated and reading the magazine. “H-how did you find me, Mr. Goddard?” She sat down on the edge of the bed and stared at him.
Demire stopped for a moment, he’s thinking what to answer her. Of course! He couldn’t tell her what exactly had happened. He has to lie in her. “I didn’t find you.” He sighed. “Someone called out for a help and luckily I was there. I-I have no choice but to bring you here.” He sounds not so convincing.
“What do you mean?”
Now, he has no answer to her question. “It’s complicated.” He stood up and faced her. “I wouldn’t do such of stupid things to ruin my name. So, don’t worry and cut those shits in your head.”
She nodded. Everyone knows about it. He has good stand and clean name. Besides, she’s not the type of girl she thinks he might want to mess up with. She was so sure that many beautiful, sophisticated girls flirting with him or worst sharing bed with him. And she has nothing in them. “I know,” she muttered. She covered up her eyes when thunder occurred.
Demire noticed her body responses to the loud noise. The weather was really bad. He took the magazine back to the center table and gazed at her. “Stay here tonight, you can’t go home yet.”
Sofia searched for a clock in his room but she couldn’t find any. “Thank you, but do you know what time is it?” Weird that he has no clock in his room.
“Nine o’clock.”
“Oh, God,” she murmured and touched her stomach. There is a bit pain on that part because of what the bad guys did to her. But that’s not what she cared about. Her stomach was roaring already. “I’m so hungry.”
He heard what she just said, clear and loud. Suddenly, he remembered she haven’t eaten any. “The foods are downstairs,” he said before he left the room.
She smiled of what he said. She runs out of the room and slowly closed the door. “Mr. Goddard?” she called him, when she noticed the house was too big. And she couldn’t find the stairs to go down. “Mr. Goddard?” She walked slowly to check him on the hallway. There were many paths to go straight but she has no idea where turn to see the stairs. There were bunches of doors aligned the corridors. She couldn’t see anything on the right corridor because of the dark. That’s where Demire vanished. “Mr. Goddard?” She started to walk on the corridor but she paused when her face hit the wall. Oh, not the wall but his hard chest. Suddenly, she appeared in front of her having the same expression as he left. “Oh, sorry!” She immediately stepped backward and faced him.
He didn’t reply her but he handed her the folded clothes. “Wear it, change first before you eat.”
“B-but, I’m really hungry now.” She looked down the floor.
“Fine.” He sighed.
Her head automatically tilted up, and stared at him when he took her hand. It made her blush in no reason. Why? It was the first time that a man held her hand. He started to guide her the direction. Sofia shook her head to vanish the thought built on her head. He brought her on his huge pantry. That surprised her a lot, and made her amazed.
“Wow! This is bigger than my room.”
He shrugged his shoulder. Having small room suffocates him, he loves having a house with a bigger space, neat and with light colors. Demire opened the refrigerator and took something out of it. “Here.”
“Wow! Thank you.” Sofia sat down in front of the counter and grabbed the fruits he gave her.
“I think, that’s not enough.” He took his phone. That was the only stock left in his refrigerator. He does not often stock foods since he used to stay inside the company and eat outside. He didn’t hire a maid, and he’s living alone. That’s why there is no reason for him to stock food. He dialed a delivery hotline and order some foods for her.
“Thank you, Sir—” She covered her mouth when she mentioned the word ‘Sir’. She knows he doesn’t want to be call in that term, and she has been warned by him before.
“Tsk!”
“Sorry.” She sighed and pouted her lips.
