Chapter 36

They are the current center of attention. Everyone sees them as a beautiful couple. Sofia’s cheeks were blushing, she could not do anything but to hide her face with his shoulder. “They are looking at us and thinking we are couple. That’s stupid,” Sofia murmured.

Demire got stop, he felt a bit uneasy about her previous statement. It gave him a sudden thought of disagreement from her. “And what’s wrong about it?” he asked worried what will be her answer. Can’t we be? He wanted to ask her that thing but he needs more courage for it. Besides, he was not sure about what he feels now. Probably, he was just longing for a woman’s attention. What he feels now can be change as days goes by.

She didn’t answer him.

They hadn’t talk again until they entered a hotel where they will stay for one day. He took the key card on the counter and headed their rooms. He put her down when they finally faced the door for room 206.

“Thank you.” She gave her a genuine smile and turned to face the door.

“That will be your room, mine was next to you. Room 207.” He pointed a room next to her room. “Your things were inside. Change and we’ll have somewhere to go.”

She faced him confused. “What do you mean, my things were inside?”

“I ordered someone to bring our things inside while we were having lunch.”

She nodded. “Oh, okay. I’ll change fast.”

“See yah, don’t rush.” He gave her a sweet smile and chuckled seeing how dirty they were. He winked at her before he turned his back to get inside his room and change but her grasp on his wrist made him stop walking. “Why?”

“I wanted to clean your wound.” Her eyes were decided, and there is no way for him to refuse what she just said. “It’s me that caused you wounded, I’m sorry.”

He touched her hand on his wrist and gently squeezed the back of it. “No need, it will heal by itself.”

“No!” She shook her head. Just like her eyes, it’s were sincere. “I wanted to clean it, please let me.” She didn’t remove her hand on his wrist, waiting for his respond. There is no way to argue or refuse it. She’ll remain insisting that thing, because she knew herself, she owed him something. He saved her again and again.

“Can I say no?”

She chuckled and shook her head. “That’s not a question.”

He nodded with unfaded smile on his lips. “Then, I’ll wait you in my room. I’ll ask someone to bring medicine kit.”

Her smile broadened. “Alright!” She went inside her room and immediately took her clothes to wear and headed the bathroom. She was amazed of how beautiful the entire room he got for her, but this is not what she thinking now. She was excited to clean his wound, share a conversation with him than to rest inside this elegant room. She knew today would be the happiest day of her life. It was her first time that a man invited her and brought her to this kind of beautiful place. This is the first time again, after a very long years that she went on a farm. She was with his dad before, but today, she was with a man that she never thought will be good as this.

Sofia wore a peach color of a blouse and denim short. She wants to wear something that would be perfect for their activities today. She’s currently stuffing her used clothes inside a bag for her laundries, when her phone rang and vibrated on top of the table. “I’m like a statue, stuck staring right at you… got me frozen in my tracks. So amazed how you take me back…” she was synching the music of her ringtone. Statue from Lil’ Eddie. She’s not in love but this song captures her heart, so she set it as her ringtone. “Gab?” She frowned to see the caller. She’s about to tap the answer button when the call ended. On checking the missed call, she found out that Gab been calling her for fifteen times now. It was since she took a shower and dressed. She opened a message from Gab.

Gab: Why you didn’t go to work today?

Gab: Please answer my call.

Gab: Sofia?

Gab: Are you busy?

What she read next is what made her confused.

Gab: I miss you.

“What? Is she drunk?” She dropped her phone on the bed and fell with a deep thought. What does she mean? They met each other yesterday on work. She wagged her head and shrugged her shoulder.

Sofia: I will be busy today, talk to you later, Gab. I’ll explain my absence tomorrow.

Sent.

Demire popped up to her head. She shoved her phone inside the small sling bag and went out of her room. Using her knuckles, she knocked on the door of his room.

“Coming.”

She heard him inside, fiver seconds before he opened the door for her. Demire was done fixing himself. He’s already wearing a black plain T-shirt and a sweat short. He’s getting better and better, in her eyes. It would be Sofia’s pleasure to watch his face the whole day. If to stare on this handsome man is a crime, she will never get afraid of, instead, she might do the crime again and again.

“Come in.”

She was stuck staring at him and only his voice woke her up. “Thank you.” She scanned his place and found the medicine kit on the center table. “Great, come here.” She sat on the fur gray carpet beside the center table.

“I told you, you don’t have to.”

“I wanted to.”

He shrugged his shoulder and followed her on the floor. “Crazy,” he murmured and chuckled.
