Demire waited outside the emergency room. Akiko left when he received an urgent call from the company Akiko owned. The doctor checked her and minutes later she was transferred on the ward room. “How is she?” He was confused of what he doing. He’d better left her now and go back to his office. He shouldn’t waste his time waiting outside for her. But there is a part of him arguing, he cannot leave her at this condition. She remained his responsibility since it was her working hours. Also, he brought her outside.
“She’s okay now. She’s just passed out. Need to finish the dextrose then she’ll up to leave the hospital. Your wife is fine.” The doctor tapped his shoulder before he left. Though, it didn’t tell him directly the reason why she passed out, something hinted his mind. He has the idea why things happened all of the sudden. He sighed and head to her bed. “You little brat! I don’t even know you but you’re disturbing me now!” He washed his face with his palms. He’s getting red because of disgust. He really hates being attached to anyone beside him. If he lived his life together with mortals super closed to him, then possible this thing will often plague him. He checked his wrist watch. It’s past four in the afternoon and he still have works to finish and yet he has to stay and wait this woman gets up. Ridiculous!!
He glanced at this pale woman in front of him. Since she’s completely unconscious, he got a chance to stare at her freely. Her lips were too pale, but the color couldn’t deny that he sees it as sugary lips. It was pouty and cracked and yet staring at it made him wonder how it taste. He gulped as he noticed the needle on the back of her palm. He smelled her blood in the instant. Sweet and savory, it could satisfy him longing to taste a women genuine blood again. In such a swift, his thoughts brought him thirsty. Wanting her blood. He stepped back and gulped but his eyes were stuck on her. He clenched his fists and roamed his sight around the four-sided room. There were ten beds inside and there are few patients with their relatives were there. Having that thoughts sucked him. He calmed himself and sat down to the armchair beside her bed. “Wake up, Sofia Pollyana! I can’t stay here for more minutes.” He sighed over and over again. He avoiding his eyes stare at her to prevent him bringing back that feelings again.
He heard her groaned. “Finally!” he muttered. Demire stood up facing her. Sofia is finally awake and slightly opening her eyes.
“M-Mr. Goddard?” she managed to asked having dried lips and lack of energy. Her vision remains spinning but not as how dizzy she was before she passed out. Now, she managed to seat on her bed. “What are we doing here?” She roamed her eyes and found out they were on a ward room.
“You didn’t know what you did?” his cold manly voice. It terrifies her but she has not enough energy for it. She could care more about her throbbing head than to care about his monstrous voice. “You made a mess, Ms. Pollyana.”
She frowned. “W-what mess?”
He sighed and closed his eyes firmly. He massaged his temple and glared at her as id she would eat her whole. “You just wasted my time. You ruined the deal and everything about the meeting with Lamberg!” he snarled at her, remembering what she just messed up. The business deal with Akiko who postponed the deal today because of what happened to her.
Sofia remembered everything what happened and it made her embarrassed again. She didn’t know this will happen. She believed she just followed what he said, the lunch with Mr. Lamberg. The only reason why she resisted hunger is because she thought this is the right thing to do. She expected a normal lunch with friends, that she usually did. She will skip her meals to ready her tummy for their foods later. And that what she did today. Now, she realized that was so stupid of her. Her eyes went teary as she realized the mess what he was talking about. She breathed so deep and bowed her head. She squeezed her palms together.
“Tsk!” He turned his back to her and left. Sofia was left with her teary eyes. She could not believe how stupid she was.
“Stupid, Sofia! It was just your second day!” She tried to hurt herself by pulling her hair. “Now, you have no idea if you can still have your job tomorrow.” She sighed and wiped her tears away. Five minutes later, everything hushed. She noticed her purse on the bedside table. The first person comes to her mind was her friend Lily. She took her phone out of his purse and immediately dialed her number. “Lily…” the only word comes out to her cracked lips as Lily answered the call.
“Sofia? Are you okay?” Lily sounds worried.
“Are you busy?”
“A little? I have few papers need to finish. Why? Is something happened?” Lily heard her sniffing. She cried again remembering what she did. Everyone knows how busy her friend, Lily. She’s managing their business and working at the same time. How could she add herself to Lily’s hectic schedule? Annoying woman!
“I am in a hospital and I don’t have any cash left to my purse.”
“Hospital!? Oh my God! Please send me the details. I’m coming!”
