Sofia felt so lucky having a thoughtful friend like Lily. Her friend left its work and immediately headed to the hospital where she was brought. Lily finally relieved when found out she’s fine now. She hugged her friend tight and cried on her shoulder. She told her what happened, and Lily listened to her unbothered. “I made another embarrassment. I don’t know if I still have work.”
“Did he said you’re fired?”
She shook her head. “No.” Pouted her lips.
“Then, you still have your work.”
“You think?”
“Yes.” Lily gave her a smiled of assurance. “Besides, you’re still his responsibility since it was your working hours. Huh!” She winked at her, grinning.
“So, I will wait him fired me.” The thought made her sad. Her face grimaced. “He snarled at me before he left me here. Everyone was looking at me that time he’s snarling here. I am a big mess in his company.” Remembering what he said made her devastated. “I think, I lost everything today.” She laid down her bed and stared at the white ceiling.
“You made a mess, Ms. Pollyana.”
“You just wasted my time. You ruined the deal and everything about the meeting with Lamberg!”
“You made a mess, Ms. Pollyana.”
“You just wasted my time. You ruined the deal and everything about the meeting with Lamberg!”
“Forget about him. If he fires you, then find a new job. There are lots of job opportunities waiting for a beautiful woman like you.” Lily lifted her chin.
She faced her with a smile. “You’re right.”
“Face him tomorrow as if nothing happened, okay?”
She nodded and sat straight to her bed again. “Yes, thank you, Lily. I couldn’t imagine my life without you. Can I borrow some money now?” She chuckled. “You know I spent all of my savings to our shop.” Her cheeks got reddish. She’s completely ashamed to her current condition now. She didn’t tell Lily before she had insufficient money left in her bank account and she used all of her savings to the coffee shop she and Lily were the owner. “Since he brought me to this expensive hospital, I think…” She roamed her eyes to the ward room again. She was absolutely shocked when she found out what hospital he brought her. This is St. Real, one of an expensive private hospital in town.
“No, worries.”
“I’ll pay you to my first salary—that’s if I have.” She immediately cut off herself. Suddenly felt sad again. “But I really need this work. So, I’ll do my best to make him forgive me. Aja!” Sofia never gives up. “Or maybe you can deduct it to my share to the shop.”
Lily chuckled. “No! I will never do it.” She stood up. “Okay wait me here, I’ll talk to your doctor and pay your bills. Maybe they can discharge you now, since I need to go back work.”
She sighed. “I’m sorry for the inconvenience, Lily. I’m really sorry.” Sofia faced Lily with her puppy eyes. Of all mistakes she did. All of her imperfections and in difficulties. Lily is the only person that remained to her side through thickness and thin. And she was thankful about it.
“That’s crazy! Of course, it’s nothing. What are friends for?” Lily smiled at her. “I know you will do the same as me, if I were in that situation.” She massages her elbow. “I’ll be back.” Then she left.

Sofia took a very deep breathe. She was standing in front of the building where her mad boss Demire Goddard was surely expecting her not to come today. But her needs were merely important for her, rather than to think how he will snarl her again and again, or worst fire her now. Lily had the point. He didn’t fire her yesterday. He’d just left resentful. “Okay, Sofia, you can do this, you’re not fired—I wish,” she muttered to herself and faced the entrance languidly. She sighed and stepped her feet to the stairs, but it seemed to be hefty than she weight.
“Sofia!” Gabriella ran towards her. As usual before eight, Gab often heading the company at this time. “What happened? You didn’t go back to the company yesterday. You out early?”
She stopped for a second. Should she tell her what happened yesterday? And how stupid she was skipped her breakfast and lunch? She wagged her head and smiled at her. “Y-yes, just got an emergency. How’s work yesterday?” They walked together inside the company. Finally, having Gab to her side eased the throb on her chest but couldn’t vanish the thought about Mr. Goddard. Could she still have the guts to face him today? Well, she’s already here. There is no turning back.
“It’s good, but nothing changed about their treatment inside the company. Everyone still working like a programmed robot.” Gab chuckled.
She noticed something wrong to her outfit today. “Why are you wearing all black? No, I mean it suits you but I used to see you wearing light-colored dresses.”
“No, nothing.” She sounds not convincing. So, Sofia remained staring at her. “Okay, my father w-was gone yesterday.” Her eyes were full of sorrow. “He passed away.”
They stopped walking in the lobby. “You still working?”
“I have no choice, Sofie, I need money.” She elevated her face to prevent her tears leak.
Sofia felt a sudden grief to her heart, remembering her parents gone on an accident. She hugged Gab and massaged her back. “It’s okay, Honey, you can do it. I wish I can lend you some.”
“No, it’s okay. I’ll try to ask favor to our boss.” They pulled out to each other and Gab tried to smile, counterfeit. “Let’s go?”
“Sure—” She was cut off when she recognized a familiar figure on her peripheral vision. It made her breathe hardly. Demire is about to reach their position. He’s walking so fast. She faced the entrance and wished she didn’t do it. He seems like a model, handsome, perfect and breathtaking. Sofia held Gab’s.
“Are you okay? Your palm is cold.” Gab started to worry about her. “Sofia?”
