"Are you ready?" Justin whispered as he huddle near me.
Right now we're waiting for the moon to be at it's peek, until then we wait.
"Just give it a few more minutes, then we attack." I replied while keeping my gaze glued on the scenery before me.
'You still can back down, Adira.' My wolf explained. She's been like this since we approached the pack house.
I know I should be listening to her, but every time I think about that old man, my blood starts to boil.
'Quiet!' I scolded back, which made her whimper before shutting the mind-link off.
I needed to concentrate, because one wrong move and this whole plan fails.
ELIJAH'S POV
"Alpha, there are some reports about rouges being on the perimeter." Jace, my beta informed me.
"How many?" I replied as I got out of my office chair and looked through the window.
"About 200, give or take." 200? Who the f**k can control 200 rouges?!
"There's something you also need to know." I turned my head and nodded, letting him know he can continue.
"Adira is there. We can smell her scent." I growled loudly at this point.
I knew exactly what my mate was up to. She was out for revenge. Did Jeffrey hurt her that bad?
I know she has reasons for wanting payback, but my pack is at risk from her anger. From her rouges.
"Send the warriors to protect the village. I don't want any children getting in the middle of this attack." Jace nodded and went out to send the orders.
I sat back in my chair, rubbing my temples while letting out a groan. I want to protect her, but as Alpha I need to put this pack first.
I finally got out of my chair when I heard loud growls. They're attacking.
I stormed out of my office and down the stairs. I ran outside just to see a rouge leaping for me. I snapped he's neck with little effort as I tried to find my Adira. That's when realisation hit me. She's not here, she's looking for Jeffrey.
I quickly fought of more rouges as I tried to mind-link Jace.
'Check on your farther now. I have a feeling Adira is after him.'
It didn't take long for Jace to reply. 'I'm on my way.'
I replied back before shutting the mind-link off. 'I'll meet you there. But do not hurt Adira. She is still your Queen and Luna.'
That's when I started fighting back the rouges with full strength, now that I'm not distracted.
That's when I heard a loud howl that made me halt. The rouges around me seemed to howl too. I knew then that they were mourning. Seeing that the loud howl came from the direction of the beta home, I shifted in mid air and ran like my life depended on it.
'Mate!' My wolf cried out as we ran towards the house. We didn't mark Adira yet, so this is a 50% that she's okay, or she's injured.
That's when I came to a stop, when I saw Adira's wolf. A white wolf.
My eyes went wide, and was taken by shock. White wolves are rare and very powerful. There strength is amazing, even if their rank is low.
Adira's wolf snapped her neck towards me. She looked guilty and upset. Pain written all over her, but that's when my eyes looked down to see who she was huddling next to. She was mourning one of her rouges.
Rouges don't mourn. Rouges are vicious and cruel. But I guess my mate killed that stereotype.
My eyes then looked over towards a bloody Jeffrey. He didn't look injured, meaning the blood had to be the rouge's. Way to try and win your daughter back, Jeffrey.
I guess Adira was in a lot of pain, because she then shifted back. With her clothes still attached. I grew shocked by how she could do that, but ignored it. Seeing that my mate was in pain.
She held the wolf like her life depended on it. She cried and screamed in agony. The pain she cried out left shivers down my spine. I knew she lost someone dear to her. And even a numbskull could tell her farther killed this rouge.
I walked over towards her gently. She didn't move from my touch. She didn't move from her huddling position at all.
I looked up towards Jeffrey and Jace for an explanation.
'I'm so sorry Alpha.' Jeffrey said through the mind-link as he bowed he's head.
'Explain to me why my mate is mourning over this rouge. Now!' I yelled back, trying to hold my anger. Seeing that my mate didn't need to see this right now.
They both whimpered and bowed their head, then Jace mind-linked me.
'He tried to kill my farther, but Adira saved him. But the rouge didn't take no for an answer. He quickly moved up from he's position, and my farther then ripped he's heart out. I only just made it and witnessed the scene.' I looked down at my mate. She didn't need to see this. To see her farther kill her friend. To feel the pain.
I came closer towards her and nudged my nose on her back. She looked up, and the pain in her eyes nearly made me loose it. How can someone have that much agony in them.
I looked up at the beta family and dismissed them. That's when I heard Adira's faint voice.
"I called it off. The rouges will never hurt you and your people again." She gave me a weak smile and got up from her position.
She looked me in the eyes and put both her hands around me, cupping my face. Then put her forehead on mine.
"I'm sorry." She said in a weak tone as her gaze dropped to her feet.
I couldn't help but whimper at the pain my mate was in. She was a rouge since she was born. Her farther abandoned her after her mother died, just to see him 18 years later killing her friend.
That's when I growled loudly, noticing the wound under her ribs. There was blood coming from it. How haven't I noticed that earlier?
She looked up and gave me a weak smile before collapsing at my feet. f**k!
