Chapter 11

JACE'S POV It's been almost a month and half now. I can't stand watching my friend hurt himself. The pain and the arrogance filling he's expressions these pass weeks are not just pissing me off, but hurting me. I know I can't do anything to help him, he won't let me or the other pack members pity him or support him. He'd just get mad and push as away with he's Alpha tone. Which I f*****g hate, cause no one can't help but submit to that bitchy tone of he's. The only way to bring the light back in he's eyes is to get Adira back, my sister. To be honest I was hurt that my farther, I mean our farther, would hide something so important like that. She's my f*****g sister for crying out loud! When I first found out about it I grew shocked and confused, but then later I wanted nothing more but to be close to her. To be with my sister. I wanted to listen to her life stories, I wanted her to show me strategies of how to be a better wolf in battle. I just wanted to bond with my sister. For years I've always wanted a sibling, one I could look to for guidance, seeing our my farther was never around, and my mother was always busy. And then Adira showed up. Being the stubborn, sassy, strong, a hint of bitchy attitude. And I knew, I knew that she was the annoying elder sister I wanted. But then she left. I know everyone feels more sadden for Elijah right now, and I understand. But she is also my sister. Adira is my blood that I didn't even know about. But no one asked me how I'm doing? "Any news about Elijah's mate?" My mom asked as we sat around the dinning table. She didn't want to say her name, she didn't want to say Adira. And that pissed me off. "If you mean Adira, then no. We haven't found out anything from her location or how she's doing." I snapped back, sending a death glare my way, from my mother. "You better watch your tone young man." She gritted back. She was obviously still not okay that dad had another child before her. Before I could snap back, my farther came to the table and gave us knowing glares. Telling us to behave. My mother scoffed while still looking pissed. I just rolled my eyes. He should be the last person giving orders right now. "How was your day son?" My farther asked, trying to lighten the mood with small talk. I glared at him before answering him. "Not good actually. I've been looking for your daughter, my sister." He looked taken back by my response and just tilted he's head low in shame. My mother didn't like my reply though. "Shut it Jace!" She snapped while slamming her hands on the table while standing up. "You, and only you, are Jeffrey's child!" I scoffed at her and stood up, not going to stand for treating my sister like an outcast. I levelled my eyes with her before opening my mouth. "She is your Queen, show some respect. I wonder what our Alpha king would think about you treating Jeffrey's first child like that." My mother closed her mouth, but not before gasping in shock. She was now gritting her teeth in anger and disgust. This time not only for Adira, but me as well. I walked out of the kitchen and heard my mother snap out me. "You come back here and eat this dinner!" I looked back her. Looking at the dinner then back at her in disgust. "If you made this then I don't want it. By the mood you're in I wouldn't be surprise if the food was a bit too salty." I gave off a smug grin, watching my mother looked shocked at me. I then turned on my heel and out the door. I rather use my time to help find my sister instead of sitting down with a grouchy, old woman, and a lying, coward farther. ELIJAH'S POV I was in the shed again. The same one Adira stayed in. I've been here for hours and I know I shouldn't be. But I can't seem to find the courage of leaving. My thoughts came to a halt when I saw my Beta, Jace walk in. He looked exhausted but he always put on a smug face, and put others before him. One of the reasons I respected him. He was also younger then most of pack warriors and the ranking commanders. But he pushed he's age aside and became my Beta. And I respect him for that. "You know sitting in this shed ain't going to bring back your lover." Jace smirked as he walked over towards me and sat down. I let out a little chuckle and nodded. "Yeah, but it sure does help." He chuckled and nodded in agreement to that. I looked over my shoulder and watched he's expression. I could definitely tell something was bothering him. "You gonna tell me, or do I have to throw a slumber party like all those white girls in films, for you to tell me what's wrong?" He snapped he's head at me in confusion before giving of a small chuckle. "Yeah right. Like you'd throw a sleep over. You'd loose not just your respect but reputation of the All So Mighty Alpha King." He then chuckled again, a bit louder. He then looked at me while wiping he's tears away. He gave me such a stern look. Filled with seriousness and no bullshit. "And let's be honest, no one else would come besides me." I rolled my eyes and chuckled a bit. "Fine, keep whatever is bothering to yourself." I then got up and dusted the dirt from my jeans, then looked down at Jace. "You coming." I said as I started to walk for the exit. I heard him scoff and then get up. We were now outside of the shed making our back to the pack house. But we both stopped where we stood once we heard. "Please help me, there's a girl and she turned into a beast!" We snapped our heads in sync to the young girl who was confessing these things to people who walked pass. Everyone ignored her, thinking she was crazy or unstable. Well, seeing that her clothes are all dirty and her hairy has gone crazy, I wouldn't blame them for the theory. 'Do you think it was Adira?' Jace asked in the mind-link, a bit to excited if you ask me. But then again, my wolves wouldn't just shift in the open without my consent. And rouges have been very scarce since the night of the attack. 'It's possible, but we need to shut this girl's mouth up before someone actually believes her.' I replied sternly, both of us not taking our eyes of the young girl. 'I got it' Jace replied before shutting the mind-link down. He soon walked up to the young girl putting he's arms around her shoulders. He whispered in her ear. "I believe you." No one else heard cause he said it so quietly, but seeing we have super hearing, it was clear as day to me. "YOU DO!?" She yelled back, feeling relived no doubt that someone believes her. "Sorry everyone, my girl friend had a little bit too much to drink." He said out loud for the people who walked by to hear. "Wait. I'm not your girlfriend!" She seemed to panic but then Jace pressed down on one of nerves on her back. Which made her slump into he's chest. He soon picked her bridal style, taking her back to the pack house. How he can do that? I have no clue. But we finally have a real lead to finding Adira. 'It's not long now till we will have her back in our arms.' My wolf purred at me. I just nodded in agreement. 'This wolf she was talking about better be Adira.' I thought as I walked beside Jace, who was holding the young girl, who may of witnessed my mate. To be honest I felt jealous that this normal human girl saw my mate, while I was at the pack doing everything I could just to get a glimpse of her. The thought had me gritting my teeth. while my knuckles went white in anger. Call me childish, but it wasn't fair that this ordinary girl got to see my Adira. It should've been me.
