ChapterTwenty Five
During the summer, Bob and I saw each other two or three times a week, as I spent the summer working again at Iarossi’s, preparing for my next semester, and my final year as astudent. Bob and I seemed to have arrived at an unspoken agreement, of the quietacceptance of our comfortable relationship with each other.
During the last week of July, I received a call from Bob, and picking up the phone, I said, “Hi, this is Laura!”
“Hi Laura,” Bob replied “Can I see you tonight, maybe we can go to Nadine’s, or The Union?”
“Sure,” I replied “What time do you want to pick me up?”
“How about 6:30,” he replied?
“Ok, I’ll see you then,”I said.
I was waiting at the curb as Bob drove up to the dorm. I hopped in the car and slid close to Bob, as we greeted each other with a kiss.
