ChapterTwenty Six During the summer before his final year at Hudson Valley, Tony was reading the local newspaper one morning when he came across a brief article that riveted his attention. The North Country Historical Association was presenting a program next year in Plattsburgh. The organization, an organization of dedicated area residents, had, as their mission, to collect and preserve information of historical significance relating to the North County, and to create programs which celebrate the area’s rich history. This year, 1959, the organization was planning a Fall program, celebrating the Plattsburgh Air Force Base and SUNY Plattsburgh, and their impact on the North Country, with speakers, exhibits, and a museum.
