Kallie, sweetheart are you up for school? I hear my mom say through my door never hearing the knock that came before her words, completely unaware of what time it really was. Jumping out of bed, yeah mom, almost ready to be down for breakfast, was a lie I have told many times these last few years. I haven't heard my mom walk away thinking I'm caught in my lie because she heard me scrambling around trying to find clothes. Honey breakfast is on the table and your father and brother are already down there eating me and your father would like to talk to you and your brother before you leave for school this morning. Man, she sounds serious Star says to me yeah i know maybe something to do with my birthday next month. This is usually around the time they ask what I would like to do. Okay, mom just brushing my teeth be down when im done, okay sweetheart i hear my mom say as she walks away. Really think its about your birthday Kal Star ask me i mean something about her tone was diffident don't read to much into Star i mean it is my 18th birthday maybe there nervous to tell me about you finally. They still don't know you came to me when i turned 13 i still don't think they have any clue about you so maybe this is them going to clue us in finally. I finish my teeth grab my bag and head down stairs making my way to the dinning room. As i enter the room everyone is already seated so i make my way to my seat giving my dad a kiss on the cheek smile at my mom and gave my good ole brother Scott and slap on the back of his head making his spit his drink as i take my seat morning to you too sis morning Scott as i laugh a little as he rubs the back of his head like i gave his a concussion. Everyone is eating and I can't help but notice the awkwardness in the room. I'm really not hungry, so I'm just pushing my eggs around taking small bits of the bacon because Star would rather have that than the eggs lost in my own thoughts. I never heard my dad say my name but I heard him clear his throat a mile away, looking up at him sorry dad was lost in though I have this test is history today, just making sure I went over everything in my head. I gave him a shy smile just to make him believe because what I was really thinking was why mom pretty much rushed me saying they needed to talk to us just for us to sit in silence over breakfast. I'm sure you'll pass it with flying colors my mom throws in don't know where you got the brains but you've been smart since we brought you home she says with a proud smile thanks mom im not that smart all i do is study like im suppose to and the answer are in the books like the teachers say easy as that my dad laugh oh easy as that then why does your brother not have the same grades then if the answer are in the books Scott laughs whats funny my dads asks him I don't have the same grades as Kal dad is because i don't read the books i just go with the flow im not like Kal she likes to read and do her homework i like to be out and free dad. Im looking at my father and Scott and it looks like they are having some secret conversation only they can hear between themselves as i was about to speak my dad snaps back from whatever him Scott was doing he continue to say at least you are honest. Since this took longer than I wanted and you two have to get to school, I'll just come right out and say it i know we usually move before or after Kal birthday but we are moving in four days. BOOM it was like a slap in the face what do you mean we are moving in four days mom please tell me this isn't true please i finally was gonna get to go to a school dance and i was gonna have this party for my 18th birthday please tell me you guys didn't just ruin my life again. I'll tell you guys how I have no friend because every time i think yeah this is the place we are gonna stay im actual gonna have real friends no we are up and moving again you know i never been to any school dance since i started middle school and they started school dances because every time one is close we have to move I have to turn down dates because i cant get close to anyone cause the fear of just getting close and leaving kills me so I feel alone. I thought you loved traveling and seeing all the new things my mom says in low tone yeah i loved it when i was eight mom i thought it was cool till I realized I had no friends to share it with. I look over to Scott to see if he has anything to say about this but him and my dad are back to this staring game Scott i say he doesn't answer what the hell Scott i say a little louder still nothing i stand there like i don't know any of these people i grew up with whatever i say i grab my bag and head out the door i hear my mom calling my name but i don't care i keep my feet moving Scott usually drives us to school since i don't have my license yet yeah i know 17 no license my parents say they can't afford a new car and they only reason Scott has one is because he got a job and paid for it himself and they would rather me get into a good collage then work. That was a little tense back there don't you think Star say to me you were right about my mom's tone this morning. Something was off and that why i think there's more to their story Kal and i think your brother knows a little more then hes letting you on to think why do you say that Star i cant say to much but im pretty sure Scott and your dad where have a secret conversation between them that only the two of them could hear could my mom hear them too im not sure Kal if she could she wasn't acting like anything she heard was new or trying to stop them Scott and your father seemed to be having an argument amongst themselves. So caught up with my conversation with Star i almost didn't notice Scott's car pulling up next to me. Im sorry about not helping you stand up to them Kal i stopped which that made him stop Scott you completely ignored me back there. I could have been on fire and you just let me burn to ash back there for what a stare down to see who doesn't blink some men you guys are that gets Scott to laugh its not funny Scott and its not fair. I open the car door and get in Scott starts to drive i just look out the window by the way my stare down with dad worked i look at him what do you mean it worked i asked it means i stared him down so hard he agreed we can stay till after the school dance.
