Ch.1: Emily
Seven years ago, Small Town was a peaceful place where the supernatural beings and humans coexisted. The town had a strict hierarchy, with the wolf pack at the top, followed by the vampires and witches. They all lived in harmony, each aware of the other's existence and respecting their boundaries.
However, this peaceful existence was soon challenged when a new girl moved into town. Her name was Emily, and she was an enigma. No one knew where she came from, and she seemed to have no family or friends. She kept to herself, never interacting with anyone.
At first, the supernatural beings assumed that Emily was just a human, with no knowledge of their existence. They decided to vote on whether to allow her to reside in Small Town, as they didn't want any outsiders to know about their secrets. The wolf pack members, being the dominant species in town, were the ones who had the final say.
After a heated discussion, the wolf pack voted.
It was a close vote, but in the end, they decided to allow Emily to stay in Small Town. However, they also agreed to keep a close eye on her and make sure she didn't reveal their secrets to anyone else.
Emily, completely unaware of the supernatural beings in Small Town, went about her daily life. She quickly fell in love with the quaint town and its friendly residents.
For nearly a decade Emily worked her part-time job at a neighborhood watering hole, and kept her head down. Content with the simple life she had created around herself.
Without warning her happy life was completely unraveled starting with the loss of her job. She was devastated. The people she worked for had become like a family to her over the years. Shortly after that, Emily loses her best friend Geoff when he becomes unexpectedly and severely sick.
Having fallen into a deep depression after the death of Geoff, Emily soon begins to notice some strange occurrences that she couldn't explain.
At first, Emily brushed off these strange occurrences as mere hallucinations brought on by her grief. But as they continued to happen, she couldn't help but feel like something was off. Objects would move on their own, strange whispers could be heard in the dead of night, and shadows seemed to lurk in every corner.
Questioning whether she was losing her mind she finally concluded the she wasnt crazy and seeing things, she was seeing things and it was making her crazy.
Trying to make sense of what she was experiencing she made it no secret to those she had grown close to over the years. She hoped someone would understand what was going on and give her the clues she needed to understand.
In a short time, word got back to the wolf pack about the things Emily was telling people. The supernatural beings in town had always kept watch on Emily from a distance, but perhaps it was time for them to get a bit closer. It would be much easier to keep tabs on her knowledge if they brought her into their circles as a new "friend". Plus then if she became a threat, eliminating that threat would be quick and easy.
After another heated voting session, the wolf pack concluded they would send Rachel, their packs Luna to befriend Emily. If their Luna could become close enough with Emily, then as girls tend to do, Emily would undoubtedly confide in Rachel. THIS would give the wolf pack the ability to keep Emily under close eye without her suspecting anything.
Begrudgingly Rachel accepts the task, despite having no interest in being gal pals with a *human*.
