Chapter 3 The birds sang from outside the window from the other side as the sun illuminated lines across the quiet room of the King and Queen’s bedchamber. Melinia woke up with a gentle warmth enclosing her, one in which reminded her of her own bed and her own home. Trying to move around, she froze as she seen the tanned skin hugging her. Frowning, she tried to slowly see if maybe it was who she had to think it was. Once halfway Melinia shifted her head to the left and see who she couldn't believe was embracing her. Liorn. His sleeping face was almost gorgeous, but he still had a stiff appearance. It was as if he was aware of what was around him, yet he was asleep. She examined his black wavy shoulder length hair, which was brought to a lighter shade from the rising sun. She knew that he was few years older than her and by the age of twenty-five he was already the ruler of Fawn, the King whom all the surrounding lands would promise fealty too. Truthfully though, she only met him a couple of months before they even married. He came to her province asking her father for a hand in marriage, but at the same time everyone knew it was a silent threat. He had asked commandingly to her father and she knew there was no escape for her. It was either lose her innocence, Melinia thought would make him resign or run away. But she couldn't do neither. Melinia watched as a piece of his silky charcoal hair slip over the frozen face. She hesitantly reached over to slip it back into place, as she did that, her eyes fixated itself on his lips. Those lips kissed her body last night. They worked black magic on her body bringing uncertain feelings over her. His lips made her feel...odd. With no self-control her lips where making a way of its own accord towards his and she couldn't stop herself. Almost as fast as she was to touching their lips together, the trance broke off and Melinia shook her head, knocking her forehead into Lion's temple. She froze as he slightly shook his head and his eyes opened. Turning her head away quickly, hoping she did not get caught in the act, she laid her head on the pillow pretending she was asleep. Her heart beat had doubled instantly. Melinia hoped it wasn't obvious as she was shaking almost furiously. Then she felt his arm move from around her bare stomach towards her chin. Was he going to strike her? Liorn woke up with a slight throb on the side of his head. Ah damn, he growled touching his temple. He was pretty sure he did not drink much if any spirits the eve before. After a minute of groaning he finally let it go and let his gaze wonder onto the woman on his right arm. Her skin was light, almost as pale as snow but blemishes marred her skin. Yet that didn't matter to him. Lifting his left arm, he touched her chin and then trailed upwards to her cheek. Gods it was so soft. Lifting his head, he kissed her neck. Mine, he thought to himself. Her scent filled his head and he couldn't help but lower his hand down from her arm to her hip. He remembered of her skin from the night before and recalled her long legs and pure and so was her breasts. He imagined the image of her naked body. He wanted so much to touch her. A knock on the door startled him from his drifting thoughts. He answered, getting up from his bed to the screen where he donned on clothing covering his undergarments. The maid from the other side of the door opened it slightly bowing down at the foot of the bed with her hand in her lap and head laid low. "Young master, n-nurse Mya wanted m-me to inform you a-about your breakfast" The girl stuttered. A tic worked in Liorn's jaw. He looked away from her and then answered," I shall wake up your lady, you may leave" She flinched and nodded rushing back to the flight of stairs. Liorn headed for the bed to awaken his wife. He stood over her wondering how he should wake her.
