The Festival of Two Moons
Long, long ago in a distant land... There was blue and gold in the sky. The kingdom was overrun and darkness dwelled as two lovers stood on the precipice of a fissured cliff. They held hands together so tightly that amid the chaos, they couldn't let it go. You told us that you would stay with us," the young man whispered. The girl smiled as her tears streamed down her face. “Even if we separated from each other by destiny, we will…” Suddenly, no one could see and there was a bright light. The earth trembled. The lovers disappeared. But while those souls lived on, a voice cried for eternity in the Universe, "Giving up won't happen for you! But when these two moons reunite once more, then the forsaken hearts will return. Present Day The land of Solaris. Golden city, with the first gems of this morning's pale dawn. Under the morning sun, massive towers glitch, Phoenix banners waved over heads and merchants set out at their stalls to take part in the largest-ever celebration of the year. It wasn't a normal day today. It was the Festival of two Moons. Once in 20 years event. Everyone from all corners of the kingdom came out to celebrate. The streets were filled with music. Children laughed. The dancer was dressed in a colorful costume. The city was alive. But there was one person within the royal palace who was keen to take action. Prince Romeo Solaris was standing on a balcony which overlooked the city below. He was a man of twenty-four, and was looked upon by all with admiration. Strong. Handsome. Fearless. The future King of Solaris. He had none of those titles who gave him happiness. The golden eyes gazed with a faraway look at the audience. “Be excited, you should be,” he said. There was a voice he knew, which cut into his thoughts. Turning around, Romeo saw his dear friend, Darius, holding two tea cups. Darius grinned. On this day, all the kingdom's girls are hoping you visit them. Romeo rolled his eyes in dismay. That's one of the reasons, which is why I'm not excited. Darius laughed. You seem to be an old man. Romeo said he would drink the tea.Romeo agreed to drink the tea. Just one day, I want no more royal business. "Impossible." "One day." "No." Romeo sighed dramatically. “Wretched friend.” "I know." Both burst out laughing. A little while, the pressure of the prince was gone. Unexpectedly, palace guards came onto the balcony. "Your Highness." Romeo straightened immediately. "What is it?" The king says: "Come. A bright and picturesqueenery disappeared. Romeo shielded a glance at Darius. They were not mistaken either with their guesses about the reason. King Aldric Solaris wouldn't call anyone out for nothing. The Throne Hall The huge throne room emanated power. Golden pillars were standing up to the ceiling. The walls were lined with guards, who stood silent. In the middle of the circle was King Aldric Solaris. His keen eyes would strike fear into the eyes of the bravest warrior. Romeo approached respectfully. Father, I've come because you called for me? The king nodded. The festival all started TONIGHT. "Yes." Near neighbouring kingdoms nobles will come in. Romeo knew what the talk was about already! The king continued. “You are an old enough man to want to marry a girl. There it was. Romeo internally groaned. "Father—" It's not a request! The king's voice resounded in the hall. The Crown Prince has to make alliances for the future. Romeo clenched his jaw. Marriage. Politics. Responsibility. There was nothing else in their conversation coming out of his mouth but those. But what about people who don't want to get married for now? The gloom of a deadly stillness descended. King Aldric, slowly, got to his feet. You really don't have a choice about your own desires. The words that fell like a sword that pierced. Romeo's eyes moved down. "I understand." The king nodded. "Good." The dialogue stopped and a stretch of silence took place. Well, for the king it's at least for this King. However, there was a growing sense of frustration inside of Romeo's mind. Beyond the Border Long, long, long from Solaris... There are enchanted forests, and silver rivers... Spread the Kingdom of Lunaria. The difference with Lunaria, compared to Solaris, is that it was glowing in the light of the moon even during the day! The trees were draped in tinsel and the branches were decorated with silver leaves. Flowers of Moonshine were scattered here and there throughout the landscape. The kingdom just seemed to be a paradise. A closer look inside the Moon Palace. . . . . It was a weird scene as I instinctively move to a window to see what is happening.Seeing an old book and a princess, who is sitting beside a window, is a strange sight to me. She had black long hair on her shoulders. Silver eyes read each and every page. Juliet loved reading books and didn't like parties as much as most princesses! Magic over politics. Knowledge over luxury. You are again in hiding. Juliet looked up. Aria, her best pal, stood with arms folded at the door. Juliet smiled. "I am not hiding." "You absolutely are." Aria grabbed the book from her. "Hey!" "No reading today." Juliet frowned. "Why?" Tonight the Festival of Two Moons because" Juliet blinked. "So?" Aria's fingers were barely holding the book. "So?!" Juliet laughed softly. “But festivals aren't really my thing. Aria drew its lashing arrow to the heavens. All the kingdom rejoices. Juliet sighed. "And?" "And here you come," he said. "No." "Yes." "No." "Yes." "No." "Absolutely yes." Juliet couldn't resist a smile. Now, it was impossible to win arguments against Aria. The Queen's Secret That evening... Only Queen Selene Lunaria was in a secret room under the palace. Old-age symbols were glowing on the stone walls. A crystal mirror is located in the center. The queen had come in contact with its surface. Immediately, visions appeared. Fire. War. A boy wearing a sun hat, surrounded by sunlight. A girl with silver lights surrounding her. A destiny-bound couple's hearts linked by destiny Then... Darkness. Frightening dark shadow engulfed all. Queen Selene pulled in her chair. Worry babe on her normal serene face. The word of the prophecy has started to come true..." She whispered. She had hoped this day would never come for so many years. Yet again, that was the way fate would have it. And soon... Romeo and Juliet were to meet up.
