shifting into phoenix and red we race threw the woods back to the pack house, they were told not to disturb us so the fact Mitch mindlinked me says this must be important, arriving back at the pack house we see a bag with clothes in waiting by the door with a note meet at the office use the knock...... damn this really is bad i think to myself, running up the stairs to the secret office in the attic we enter to find everyone with grave looks on their faces. "do you want the good news or the bad news" the king asks. before i can open my mouth i hear a quiet voice, "bad news first" answers Anya,

"ok, the bad news, i sent some of my warriors to the inn you guys stayed at that night but the inn keeper you mentioned has been found in his room, it looks like michael and the rogues got to him before we could, hes in critical condition at the hospital at my kingdom and is under full guard but the doctors are saying its not looking hopeful" "but now for the good news, there was cctv at the inn its time stamped and it shows you entering the inn with no mark and leaving the next day with a mark so we have this to back us up then we have our next bit of good news doubles as a surprise for you anya he nods to his beta who leaves the room, "now luna Anya before your surprise arrives when it comes in you need to remain as calm as possible you cannot freak out in anyway whether that be excitement anger or sadness".

Anya pov

Turning to look at lucas he helps to keep me calm and it works untill there is the unique knock at the door, my hearts racing as mitch opens the door, i turn and stood before me is anna and maria, i now see why i was told to stay calm they are both all skin and bone and covered in bruises, clearly they begun to take the brunt of michaels anger at me leaving with lucas, everyone sensing my anger takes a step away from me incase red comes out, the king begins to inform everyone that it has taken a couple of weeks to rescue them and apologises for not keeping me in the loop over the plan but no one new if the girls were going to be abled to be rescued or if they were even still alive,

i walk over to the girls and gently pull them into a hug and the three of us crumple to the floor breaking down in tears these girls where like sisters to me and i never thought i would see them again, its then that we hear two low growls looking up i see two of lucas guards stood staring at us "sorry luna, we didnt mean to growl at you, we went with the kings guards to sapphire falls on the rescue mission and it turns out these are our mates" "my name is Dante im head guard and Anna's mate and this is my second in command brent he is Maria's mate" he informs me while we help the girls stand up, it is at this point they both take a knee infront of me placing a hand over their hearts "luna,we pledge to you, the girls will be well looked after and we will lay our lives on the line for them" at this they stand and lead the girls back to their rooms.

The King pov

The girls have agreed to testify against michael in the courts, they will have to stay hidden untill the court date so that they are protected but with the cctv and the testimonies we should be able to convict michael. This will all be over soon Anya i promise.

The plan is for the girls to stay in their rooms with their new mates until we can capture him and have his trial, they have to remain hidden at all costs.

i turn my head trying to hide my glassy eyes as the medic from my pack mindlinks me, i cant hide the relief on my face as he informs me the inn keeper woke up and was able to identify michael as one of his attackers, he is currently protected under royal guard with 1 medic and 1 nurse attending to him to secure his safety. "Anya i have more good news" everyone turns to look at me you can cut the tension in the room with a knife, "what im about to say cannot under any circumstances leave this room!"

everyone takes a deep inhale "i have heard from my medic, the inn keeper has woken up AND he remembers who attacked him"

Anya pov

lucas leads me out of the office and up to our room where our housekeeper has run me a bubble bath, i can hear lucas talking to me but i dont take in what he is saying, im in a complete daze the whole walk its nearly over, ill soon be free, all thats left now is to find proof that those rogues were hired by michael. Jaimie has offered to speak up in return for our protection, hes currently in training with our warriors.

"Anya my love are you okay?" lucas says touching my shoulder making me jump, turning to face him i explain how i just need it to be over i want to forget, he gently lifts my chin so im looking at him "it will be soon my love" he promises me before leaning down to kiss me, he deepens the kiss lifting me up my legs wrap around his waist he carries me into the bathroom, sitting me on the side he kisses down my neck we undress each other running our hands over each other bodies he slides his hands up my thighs he lifts me up and carries me to the bubble bath lowering us into the bubbles he sinks into me his hands holding my hips my hands holding the side of the bath as he pounds into me, making me scream his name. he lifts me up and turns me around pulling me close to him so im laying on his chest we lay soaking in the hot water letting all our stresses and worries fade away even if it is just while the bath water turns cold, half an hour later were out of the bath wrapped in our fluffy dressing gowns getting ready to head down to dinner.

The atmosphear at dinner was the most relaxed it has been in few weeks that i have been here, with the news that the inn keeper will make a full recovery and him, Jaimie, Anna and Marie are willing to testify plus cctv, were garanteed to win this in court.

Lucas pov

seeing how relaxed Anya is now is definetly putting me at ease, its calming phoenix too which is helping hes become unbearable recently constantly pacing in my head worrying about Anya and Red, after dinner we all decide to go for a small run as long as were staying away from the borders well be okay and itll do our wolves good to stretch their legs, with the threat thats been going on we decided to stay close to the pack house for safety and to protect Anya, the girls and Jaimie.

we step into the woods to shift hiding our clothes in the base of the trees multiple wolves howling as they shift feeling free, we head to a hidden lagoon that only midnight eclipse wolves know about.
