-Fiona's POV-
I spent the rest of the evening on my couch trying to contemplate my life. Part of me wanted to find Charlie and work on our communication issues to build our relationship to a point I was sure I could make it work, while the other part of me wanted to rush to Aiden and see how things would pan out. Love is such a strange feeling. I love Charlie because he has been nothing but nice to me. His urge to be territorial sometimes, maybe a flaw in disguise, but I was okay with it. Suddenly, I wasn’t sure about anything anymore. What is a marriage? What is life? What is a soul mate?
“Fiona” Charlie’s voice interrupted my thoughts.
“Oh, hi! I didn’t hear you come in” I stated, getting up from the couch.
“I didn’t hear from you all day so I thought I’d drop by”. Charlie’s presence made me feel a little bit better. His arms lifted me as I went in for a kiss.
“I’m glad you did” I meant those words. Maybe this is what I needed. I should spend more time with him. Why haven’t I been doing that?
“I mean if all you wanted was kisses, I’m happy to accommodate your request” Charlie chuckled as he pushed me towards the couch. His lips were soft, and his strong arms wrapped around me tightly.
“Oh, so you came from work to take advantage of me?” I joked, returning his affection.
“Now if we moved in together, I can do this every single day” He breathed in my ear. I knew he was going to bring it up. But the only reason we haven’t still moved in together is that he demands I live in his mansion, with his family. I just wasn’t ready to do that yet. And when I offered him to move in with me and Lydia, he respectfully declined. So, in the end, we just decided to get our own house after we got married.
“Well, only one and a half month to go” I replied. His kisses intensified every part of my body except one. The most important one. I sighed slowly as I begin to understand what was happening.
“Something wrong?” Charlie stopped kissing me and asked.
“No, just kiss me” I whimpered. Charlie made his way down to my neck. I let out a soft moan. His hands gripped mine and I could feel a small part of me giving in while the rest for some reason held back.
“I’ve missed you” He whispered whilst leaving trails of kisses all over my body. I closed my eyes and bit my lips clenching my legs together. After everything that has happened today, I could use some relaxation.
“Hey, you summoned me?” A familiar voice spoke that made me open my eyes wide. I looked up from the couch and see Vision Aiden standing in front of me.
“No!” I replied angrily. He was the last person I wanted to see right now.
“No? Should I stop?” Charlie looked at me curiously.
“No no, please continue” I pleaded. I stared at Vision Aiden (VA) while he knelt down and looked at me with a huge smirk on his face.
“Please go” I mouthed.
“Make me. Only you can do that. I only appear when you need me and it looks like you really do” He looked at Charlie and frowned. I help Charlie to pull down my pants, and he wastes no time in burying his face between my legs.
“Oh god,” I muttered underneath my breath. My eyes wouldn’t move away from Vision Aiden (VA). His face was so close to mine, teasing me as usual. This is so wrong. I realized feeling my s****l drive soar then plummet.
“Now now, don’t lose focus” VA spoke huskily. “Look at me, Fiona. I’m the one you want. You want my hands to be on you right now, my lips touching your skin and tongue between your legs. Am I right?” His questions taunted me as I gasped “Yes”
“You want me, don’t you?” VA pressed his question. And I couldn’t help but answer “Yes”
My eyes peeped open to look down at Charlie. This whole ordeal didn’t make any sense, and it wasn’t fair to Charlie.
“Don’t look at him, look at me” VA leaned in closer. His masculine jawline and green eyes melted me away. How can I loathe someone so much and still find them so sexy? I wondered. I knew I couldn’t touch VA physically but at that time, that was all that I wanted to do.
“Not feeling it, are you Fiona? Am I ruining the mood?” He smirked clearly indicating who was. I reached out for Charlie and gestured him to stop.
“Why? What’s wrong? I thought you were enjoying” He stated.
“I just don’t feel like it” I managed to say as I watch VA vanish into thin air. Now that Aiden was in town and is real, I don’t think my brain is even going to allow VA to disappear forever. I don’t think I can ever not imagine him.
“What’s wrong, Fiona?” Charlie sounded annoyed all of a sudden.
“What do you mean?” I dressed and got up from the couch and asked.
“You’ve been acting so weird lately. Even at the engagement party, you were drunk and I’ve never seen you that drunk before. Are you having second thoughts?” The bluntness of this man made me gulp. Am I? I thought anxiously.
“No, silly. I guess right now, it just feels like we should wait until we’re married to do it.” I chuckled nervously, baffled that I even suggested it.
“Please tell me you’re not serious” Charlie laughed.
“I don’t know, we’ll see. I think I’m just stressed out about the wedding. That’s all” I said honestly. Ever since we’ve been engaged, the White family has taken over. I even had to attend a class to hold my cutlery properly. They have been super gracious but I feel like they own me at times.
“There’s nothing to worry about. My parents are taking care of it” Charlie stated, making my point.
“Exactly. Your parents are taking care of everything, Charlie. This is supposed to be our wedding. I’m thankful for their services but we can manage on our own, don’t you think?” I asked him nicely. This was my third try to ask him if we could just elope instead of throwing a 500 guest-list wedding at some huge famous outdoor rented cottage.
“Sorry babe, mom will get very upset. And trust me, no one wants to upset that woman. Besides, once we’re married, all these thoughts will go away. The wedding will be grand. We’ll even make it to the headlines. I need to show off my gorgeous wife to everyone” He smiled but I couldn’t return it.
“Do you love me?” I blurted out, staring at him. If my marriage is going to last only one year, I have to be sure the one I’m marrying truly loves me. I mean, I know he does. But does he? I’ve begun to question everything.
“I’m marrying you, aren’t I?” Charlie took my hand and kissed it.
“Do you love me?” I asked again, seeking for some kind of assurance.
“Yes, gosh Fiona. I wouldn’t be spending all this cash on an engagement party and wedding if I didn’t love you” Charlie’s response let me high and dry. But it was true. He’s the type of guy who just goes for the things he wants. Even in our first encounter, he was so determined to get my number after meeting up at the coffee shop coincidentally at the same time every morning before work. His perfect teeth, dark brown eyes and chocolaty smooth skin along with the classy attire just gave off the vibe that he was a go-getter.
“Do you love me?” Charlie asked, tucking my hair behind my ear.
I leaned in so he could wrap his arms around me for an embrace. The word’s “yes” escaped my lips as a whisper as I locked my eyes to VA who suddenly appeared before me. VA had no smirk on his face this time, instead, he just stared right back at me as I managed to say “I love you”

I stayed at home until Lydia came back from work. She dressed very stylishly for the work. She’s so systematized that even her bra will match her underwear. Every single day. She used to always say better ready than never.
“Oh hi, m’lady”, she joked as she entered the living room.
“Oh, would you give it a rest already? I’m on annual leave just for a week. I had to take leave from work just for the engagement party, it doesn’t mean I quit work”. I rolled my eyes.
“I wish my engagement party caused me so much stress so I could take leave from work as well” She mocked then laughed. Lydia can be very mean at times, but she’s my roommate and childhood friend. The least I could do was tolerate her.
“Well, it is kind of nice just staying at home”. I tried to push her buttons but she quickly changed the subject.
“Okay, so spill out the beans. Who is that hunk from Aussie?” She kept her Luis Vuitton bag on the counter and sat on the couch.
“Oh, umm that’s Aiden” I replied, waiting for her to somehow connect the dots. The only time I have ever mentioned any Aiden to her was about my dream guy. How is it that she’s now forgotten about him already?
“Aiden who?” She waited for an elaborate response. I tried to think of something on the spot.
“Aiden Greyson. We were pen pals ages ago in seventh grade. We met on this website called umm kidscom.com.” I blurted out the only thing I could think of. Everyone in my class was on kidscom.com back in the seventh grade. Lydia wouldn’t know about it because we weren’t in the same class that grade.
“And you invited him to your wedding?” She asked in disbelief. I had failed to realize how bad of a liar I was.
“Yes?” I replied.
“What a great idea! He’s gorgeous! I mean, handsome so handsome. I don’t care where you met him, you did great by inviting him. Now he has a chance to meet the maid of honour” Lydia raised her hands up in the air and danced.
“Yeah but I don’t think he’s staying. He probably left, because umm his dad had a stroke” I replied quietly. Amongst all the lies, this one was true. I remembered visiting his father’s grave with him in a dream. He probably heard the news by now. Deep down I wanted to be there to comfort him. But who am I in Aiden’s life right now? His imaginary wife? Part of me got rid of him because he needed to be in Australia with his dad, another part of me wanted him gone so I could prove him wrong. I can work this out with Charlie. I know I can.
“I know you don’t want me messing around with guests you’ve invited for the wedding but damn, Fiona you didn’t have to throw his dad under the bus like that with that lie. Nothing is wrong with his dad, he’s texting me right now. I invited him for dinner and he said yes. You disapproving this makes me want to bang him more” She smirked and left to her room.
“Wait, what? He’s still here?” I mumbled to myself. He would have gotten the call by now. Probably from Marie, his housekeeper. Why do I know all this? I buried my face in my palms and let out a deep breath. There’s no way he is . . .
Before I could finish that thought, the doorbell rang. I could hear Lydia yelling from her room. “Man, he is fast. I just hopped in the shower. Tell him we’re ordering Chinese, I’ll be right out”
Suddenly my legs felt heavy and they got heavier with every step I took towards the front door. With a lecture in mind, I opened the door to his face. He was dressed smartly and casually, his green eyes gleamed and he had a bouquet of flowers in his hand.
“Hi” He flashed a smile.
“Hey” I managed to say.
“Since I didn’t bring any engagement gifts last time, I thought I'd bring you tulips. They are still your favourite, right?” Aiden handed me the flowers.
“Umm yes, they are”. I took them from him and invited him in.
“Is Lydia around?” His question concerned me. Why are you looking for her when I’m right here? Was I jealous?
“Yes but she’s in the shower” I replied.
“Oh good. Cause we need to talk” Aiden spoke.
“We do” I agreed. It is funny that we both knew so much about each other but yet we’re still very awkward around one another.
“Firstly, I want to apologize to you. I shouldn’t have barged into your life and tried to stop you from marrying him. You were right, I messed up the timeline by coming here and finding you. I just found out my company is being audited for fraud and I have to go back home to take care of that. I came here tonight because Lydia is quite persistent and it’s an excuse to see you one last time before I leave” He said what he needed to say. I stared at him a little longer thinking there was more.
“Is your dad okay?” I asked worriedly.
“Yeah, I spoke to him before coming over here. Why? Does something happen to him?” His face looked stunned.
“No, something should have happened by now. But since it hasn’t yet, I think the timelines are changing the outcomes” I replied. For once I felt relieved knowing that my prediction might be wrong. Not everything that took place in the dreams can come true now that Aiden is here.
“Was something bad happening to dad? I told you in the dream, didn’t I?” Aiden confronted. I didn’t want to lie and I couldn’t so I blurted out the truth.
“He died of a stroke yesterday. . . that was supposed to happen but it didn’t. So you being here, changed that and instead your firm is getting audited now”
“Well, if you put it like that, being audited for fraud has now become the best thing that has ever happened to me” Aiden laughed. He took his phone out and sent a text, to which he got an immediate reply. His smile was evident but so were the tears he tried to hold back.
“He’s okay” Aiden buried his face, trying to hold back his feelings. Meanwhile, I embraced him. My fingers ran through his silky hair tenderly. I let out a huge sigh of relief melting into his arms for those five seconds.
“He’s okay” I reminded him. Maybe messing up the timeline isn’t all that bad.
As we pull away from the hug, something slows me down. I stared at him, wanting to break from this magnetic force, this gravitational pull towards him that has intensified every part of my body, including the most important one.
“I . . ." Aiden whispered, staring directly at my lips. I purse my lips together, wanting nothing but to give in. I swear he could almost hear how loud my heart was beating.
"f**k, I want to kiss you so bad, Fiona” Aiden pleaded under his breath. He locked his eyes to mine and waited as if he was asking permission. I gave him a slight nod of approval. His head tilted to the side so our lips could meet. I couldn’t hold back any longer. Just as we’re about to kiss, a voice interrupts us.
“What are you both doing?”
Lydia had finally gotten out of the shower.
