THEY MATTER
When we do nothing, then nothing changes
And the world still stays the same.
We have to do something to help the world,
Or the injustices will remain.
Rape, murder, bullying and assault
They all go hand in hand.
People are robbed of their control
If we don’t ever take a stand.
But what of the injustices we commit,
That we ignore every day?
The ones we commit against another
That we can easily change?
Praying with a stranger
Just because they are sad.
Or helping them load their groceries
Just to make them glad.
Learning that sweet lady’s name
Who always makes your day.
Or tipping the girl in the drive thru
Who knows how you like your change.
It’s the little things that matter
If we all just the take time to do
To help other people see
That they also matte
