Twenty-Two MAY-17 YEARS OLD School went on, but my grades were barely passing. It was hard to focus and Mom said it would make her happy if I could just pass. At school I see Christine, but she just smiles a little and keeps walking. Nobody at school knows, so I’m thankful, I guess, that she didn’t tell anyone. One day, I see her at the water fountain and I walk up to her. “Hey.” “I’m sorry,” she whispers as she walks away. Dad still doesn’t treat me like before. I used to be able to talk to him about anything. But now he isn’t available. I had hoped by getting the abortion it would fix everything, but it hasn’t.
