Now.” She exhaled slowly and turned away from the stars. Lights flickered. Something scraped the outer hull—slow, deliberate, like claws testing metal. Captain Orion Kade stormed into the room. “What the hell was that? Report!” Lyra stared at the blackness outside the viewport. “I think something found us.” Another scrape echoed. This time louder.
