“How far is it?” Aiden had not heard of the place before, but then he had rarely ventured far from the City. “Two days, maybe three.” Aiden frowned and glanced back at Tristan. He sincerely hoped it was not too far. “Tristan’s strong,” said Falkor, catching his gaze. “He’ll make it.” Falkor pulled Tristan to his feet and pressed a stout stick into his hand. “Aiden take his other arm,” he said. Aiden hoisted his pack onto his back, taking Tristan’s free arm over his shoulders. Falkor led the way to the stream, ushering them ahead through the waters. “I’m going back to cover our tracks,” said the wizard.
