“Come,” said Allan, turning into the trees. “You must tell me all that has happened in the City as we walk.” They started off into the trees and though Aiden’s legs ached he felt lighter than he had for days. He fell into step behind Falkor and Allan, listening as they spoke in low tones about all that had happened. Falkor recounted the story of the man they had caught in the library and the message left scraped on the walls. He told of how Halvard and Johann had gone to Cairn Ban and not returned, then of how their prisoner had talked of a great Brathadair army amassing at Cairn Ban to await Sorcier’s return and how that had sent the rest of the Eagle Riders flying out to stop them.
