There was a slight tension in the air as the front door opened and Arthur walked in. Behind him were their guests who had just arrived.
"The Anderson's have arrived!", Arthur announced, as he stepped aside for them to walk ahead of him to where Piers and Alex were both standing, waiting for them.
"Welcome Uncle Philip and Ruth", Piers greeted. He didn't move an inch forward to them but stood where he was and allowed them to keep walking towards him.
"Piers my boy, it is good to see you again", Philip said. He was 65 years of age and was the younger brother of Piers' father - Henry Anderson.
"Hello Piers, it is good to see you again", Ruth said, as she leaned for some side kisses. Piers obliged. She was five years younger than her husband, Philip.
