Alex kept running through the passageway. The tears she managed to hold back while in the presence of Piers had now come flooding her eyes. It was now obstructing her vision but she just wanted to get as far away as possible from him.
"Boom!"
She crashed into something or someone, as she fell on the floor. She could feel the sharp pain of her head hitting the wall before it hit the marble floor.
"Arghh!", she groaned in pain.
"Oh my God! Are you okay?!".
She heard a female voice say. She quickly wiped off her tears from her eyes as she looked at the female that held her arm and was trying to pick her up.
"Maria, it is you", she said. She didn't look hurt or harmed in any way, apparently it was not her she crashed into.
"I thought I ran into you", she said, relieved.
