Diamonds Over Gold - Episode 2 The next morning, Zara barely touched her breakfast. Her phone buzzed with a sweet good morning text from Lenny, complete with kissy-face emojis. She smiled, but Grandma Fola watched her from across the table like a hawk. “Love doesn’t beg for money,” the old woman muttered. Zara dropped her fork. “I didn’t say anything about money.” “Didn’t have to. I’ve seen that look before. Na so that man chop my own sister’s pension back in 1962.” Zara rolled her eyes. “This is different, Grandma.” Grandma folded her arms. “Every girl says that before the heartbreak. And then, boom! Bank alert don vanish, boy don vanish.” Later, Zara stepped outside for air. A sleek black car pulled up the driveway. Out stepped a tall, fine man in a white kaftan. Zara blinked. The kaftan wasn’t just fine—it looked expensive. His beard was trimmed, his wristwatch gleamed. “Who are you?” she asked. “Azeem,” he replied, glancing her up and down, unimpressed. “Your future husband.” Zara's jaw dropped. “Excuse me?” Azeem smirked. “Try not to fall in love too fast. I won’t be impressed by tears.” Game on.
