"Amelia, let's go inside." Lilly's voice soon reached my ears.
I followed Lilly and her dad, Fred, without waiting for anything. I glanced behind me, the Lorcan driver and his car were still there. I opened the gate and walked straight towards the door where Fred was waiting for me.
"Condolences for your wife." I fell into Fred's arms.
After all these years, Lilly's dad had changed. His body now looked stronger than before, probably from the hard physical work. I could see the pain in his face that he was not trying to hide.
"Thank you, Amelia." Fred hugged me with both arms.
"How did you get back from s*****y?" I asked politely.
I know that this may not be the time or the place to ask such things, but I had to know.
