Echoes of the Broken Bond

Drake was alpha of the Red Moon Pack, one of the fiercest packs. He was fated mated to Kira from the Silvermoon Pack. The two packs had bad blood from old alphas long before Kira and Drake. They were not enemies, but not friends either. Drake and Kira met one day at a pack meeting. When their eyes met, the bond locked in place. Drake made his way to Silvermoon Pack to officially meet Kira and her father, the alpha. He was wary of the past. To his beta Grim, he said, “Knowing their past, it's hard to believe I am mates with the alpha's daughter. We must keep our eyes open.” Kira loved going out and walking the forest. Her friend Sage found her. “Kira, you must come inside. Get ready for Alpha Drake,” said Sage. “I know, Sage. I've been right here,” said Kira. Sage walked off. A few moments later, Kira was coming back, thinking, I know our pack had some bad blood, but I hope Alpha Drake can see past that. Just then, Kira heard a roar and ran toward it. She found Alpha Drake on the ground with an arrow in him. She could see the poison going through his veins. She knew she had to act fast or he would die. The only way to get the poison out was to suck it. It could kill her or make her sick if not treated right. She did not choose. He was her mate. Without a second thought, she sucked the poison out. Right then, Sage came running. “Sage, help me stop the bleeding. I am going to get help,” said Kira. Once Kira was gone, Drake opened his eyes. He saw Sage. “You saved me?” said Drake. Sage looked around and did not see anyone. “Yes, I did. Kira and her father want you dead. I couldn't let them,” said Sage. “Kira wanted me dead? I don’t understand,” said Drake. “She didn't want you as her mate, so her and her father planned to kill you,” said Sage. Drake growled. “She and her family will pay—the whole pack. But you... you will come with me. You will be my Luna.” Drake made his way to Silvermoon Pack with Sage. His beta Grim said, “Alpha.” “Alpha Drake, I was coming back,” said Kira. Drake looked at her with rage. “What, to make sure I was dead?” Kira stepped back. “What? No, I…” Drake stepped forward. “You and your father planned to kill me. You will pay.” With that, Red Moon Pack came out of hiding and attacked. Kira watched her whole pack killed. She watched Alpha Drake kill her father. Kira looked at Sage standing there. Once Drake was done, he came over to Kira. “You will be my Luna slave.” Kira was too shocked to speak, too wrecked from what she just saw and the poison in her—she only managed to take a few healing pills.
