Dad is coming home which is super weird, he never comes home unless it was a holiday break. He always make up excuses not to be around but he called and said he was coming home and I was beyond happy, I haven’t seen him in months.
“Will you calm down? It is just your Dad not an angel coming down from heaven” Ella said.
“Why exactly did mom invite you over?”I asked. I don’t want anything to spoil my mood and most importantly I do not need my enemy of ten years to spoil a happy moment for me.
“Beats my imagination” She replied while snatching the remote from me. Calm down Justin, you can’t commit murder the day your dad is coming, he will be disappointed.
“Cursing me silently in your mind won’t do the trick. You need to calm yourself down, you look like you’re going to s**t yourself any moment from now”She said.
“At least you’re right about something” I said.
“Shitting yourself?” She asked.
“Calming myself” I answered.
“He is probably going to do what he did the last time, I will advice you not to hope for something big or spectacular”
“You just have to jinx it right and it is not going to be like last time” I said while referring to the time when dad left when mom had a car accident.
“Am I the only one who thinks you’re stupid or what. Anyways, please tell me there is food in this house” She said while heading towards the kitchen.
“Glutton”
“Whatever” She said waving me off.
To people outside, we were sworn enemies but truth be told, we care for each other but will never admit it cause she is a certified arrogant, selfish and idiotic fellow who has always been following me around she could learn to walk.
“How about your dad?” I asked when she came back with was Josh leftover pizza.
“Hasn’t called since six moths now, probably w*****g out. How my mom hasn’t figure that out beats my imagination?” She said while changing the channel for us to watch Spy x Family.
“And how you are able to figure it out beats my own imagination” I said while mocking.
“Do you want to die?” She asked while giving me that death glare she usually reserve for me.
“No I don’t………” I was about asking her for something when I got a call from Hannah saying she wants us to meet.
“I have to go over to Hannah’s . You are going to be okay right?” I asked.
“When have I not been okay” She said and I frowned. She is never okay.
“I will make sure to be back early” I said and she replied with whatever.
“I have been waiting for you since” Hannah said while pouting.
“Sorry, so what do you what to talk about?”I asked.
“Nothing”
“What do you mean by nothing?”
“Okay, fine. I want us to just have an alone time with just the both of us. We haven’t been meeting up”
“We see each other in school everyday” I said.
“I meant aside from school”
“Fine but I need to go back home early”
“Sure”
“So what do you have plan for both of us?” I asked……………….
It was getting late and I knew I needed to leave soon, Ella can’t stay alone. It brings back memories, bad ones.
“I got to go home”
“Why exactly are you rushing, the last time I check, your curfew is by 11 and this is just 7. Just relax and have a little bit of fun”
“But……..”
“No buts” She said while cutting me off.
An hour turned into two and from two to more than three hours.
“I really need to go home”
“What did you keep at home, your parents and brothers are not around, just let’s have fun” She said shoving herself to me. I was about replying her when I got a call from Ella.
“Hey, are you okay?” I asked.
“Hmm…..Are you coming back anytime soon?” She asked.
“Am leaving right now, I will be home in probably ten to fifteen minutes” I said and cut the call.
“I have to go. It is important. I will see you later” I told Hannah before driving off.
I got home after a crazy drive to see her staring into space.
“Am here okay” I said while drawing her close to me.
“Sorry for making you leave your date” She said and I answered with a no problem.
“What do you think about re watching Hawkeye?” I asked and she scrunch her eyebrows.
“I can’t count how many times you’ve made us watch that movie over and over again” She said.
“But it is so good” I countered.
“And you’re so weird” She replied. Ok…..The sassy queen is back.
I woke up early and decided to prepare breakfast, mom and Josh will be back from their trip while dad will be coming back later.
“Morning Sleepyhead” I said while shaking Ella to wake up but all I got was the usual grunts and weird noises. I leave her be.
I was about eating breakfast when she walk into the dining room almost tripping on her way over.
“Welcome, your highness to the planet earth” I said with an obvious hint of sarcasm, she ignored me but apparently the breakfast is too good to ignore.
“You want me to drop you off or you are good to go”I asked.
“Have I ever drive myself back home whenever we have sleepovers” She questioned.
“Am taking that as a yes, you are driving me” I said.
We quickly ate breakfast before I drive her back to their house.
“Text me how everything goes when your dad comes back” She said and I nodded before driving off.
Dad came back rather late and he wasn’t alone but with a woman.
“Felicia, meet my sons, Josh and Justin” He said and she turn to us smiling.
“Nice to meet you. Am Felicia” She said.
“Dad, who is she?” Josh asked.
“My girlfriend” He replied while mom just went inside.
I don’t know what happened over the course of me, my brother and my dad fighting but I ended up going to the one person who could understand me…………ELLA
