Jae's father was an uptight businessman who had been trying to get him to take over the family business ever since his mother passed and left it to him, he had tried to leave all that behind but somehow it had caught up to him. The ride back into town was a long one, the man sitting next to him didn't say a word just kept staring ahead like he was only allowed to drive and nothing more.
"So how much is my father paying you to kidnap me and bring me to him?", silence. "It's a long ride back so why not try to be friendly", still nothing. "Fine, we can just sit silently, but I bet my father never told you why I ran away".
When Jae was eighteen he finally worked up the nerve to come out to his family, his mother was proud and said she would love him no matter what; his father on the other hand refused to accept it. He had tried to send him to a conversion camp secretly but his mother found out and threatened to leave him if he did, his father he would never get anything if she left him. His mother owned the business his father ran, given to her by his grandfather, when she married Jae's father he took over running it but it was still in her name. If she left him she could take the business with her and he would be penniless; when she died and left him the business he was shocked. That is when his father tried to convince him to stop all the gay s**t and settle down with a woman, he had arranged for him to marry the daughter of one of his business partners.
He knew he couldn't live a lie for the rest of his life so he ran; taking a bit of money from his trust he hopped a plane to London and never looked back, that is until he got the urge to go back to the States. There was no way he was going to outrun his father but he was hoping to have a bit more time before he had to face that part of his past, now it was heading straight for him. The hotel his father was staying at was big; he expected nothing less from the man who loved to show how much better he was than anyone. His father was waiting for him in the hotel restaurant with of course his would-be fiance and a few other people, he should have known it would be an ambush.
"Hello, Father, it's always nice to see you", he couldn't keep the sarcasm out of his voice.
"It's nice to see you too son", his father said with no real expression.
"To what do I owe the pleasure of being kidnapped?"
"I have allowed you to go on this little walk about, now it is time for you to come home and take your place in the company"
"I have no intentions of going back with you, why don't you and everyone else just leave and we can pretend not to know each other"
"I know about the house, I also know about Martin, does he know who you really are Jasonius?", his father knew he hated his full name.
"Why are you doing this to me, I don't care about the business, let one of my brothers take over the business?"
"Your damn mother left it in her will that only you could take over, your brothers were to each get a small percentage of the company but only you can sit at the top, she was very clear about that", his father had a scowl on his face at that.
"I don't care, I am not going back with you, and I am not marrying Maria"
Up until that point the small blonde woman had been quiet, Maria was the daughter of Hank Browd, one of his father's shady business partners; he had been trying to get him and Maria together ever since they were teenagers. When he came out his father saw his opportunity to merge the family slip away, however, when his mother passed his father tried once again to get his way. He knew there was no way he could marry someone he didn't love so he ran and tried to forget about his life for as long as he could. The woman he knew he could never love was sitting right in front of him and she looked like she was ready to kill him, he knew she had a thing for him but he had never given her any reason to try anything.
"I know you don't love me, but given time we can grow to love each other"
"Are you slow, I'm gay, I would never want to be with you"
"You just need a good roll around in the bed with me and you will change your mind"
"I had a good roll around in the bed with a beautiful blonde man right before I came here, so I think that won't work", the look on her face was pure disgust.
"Nevertheless, you and I will be happy together"
Jae stopped talking to her and looked directly at his father, he was done with this silly conversation; he had to find a way to get out of there, before he could come up with an escape plan the walls began to close on him. He was coming in and out of consciousness so it was hard to tell what was going on but he knew he was on a plane, his father must have drugged him somehow. When he finally woke up again he was in his old bedroom, he thought he would never see that room again, there were so many bad memories attached to this place he needed to get out. A man he had never seen before came into the room to explain what was going on, it seemed his father was going to try and force him to marry within the next day or so, he really wished he could get out now.
"Hello, Mr. Anders, I am here to brief you on tomorrow's event"
"You mean my forced wedding ceremony"
"Mr. Anders has instructed me to get you ready for the festivities", the man pulled out a folder with documents for Jae to sign.
Before he could tell the man to get the hell out his door opened and his brother Frank walked in, he told the man to leave but leave the paperwork behind; he was shocked to see his brother. Frank was only a few minutes older than him and he thought the man hated him, he had taken his father's side when their mother had threatened to leave if he tried to send him away.
"To what do I owe this visit brother?"
"Father sent me here to make sure you sign the papers"
"I don't want to marry Maria, she is crazy and I could never love her"
"I know you don't want to marry her, she doesn't want to marry you either"
"What are you talking about, she was practically giving me heart eyes at the restaurant"
"That was just for father's benefit, she is in love with another", he could see it in his brother's eyes, Frank was who Maria was in love with.
"Then why is she going through with this farce of a marriage?"
"She has no other choice, her father threatened to cut her off if she didn't go through with it"
"OK so then why are you letting someone else, especially someone you hate marry the woman you love?"
"I don't hate you, dear brother, I just need Dad to think I do, keep your enemies close and all"
"So you do love Maria then?"
"Of course, I do, which is why I can't allow you to marry her"
"And how are you going to stop the wedding?"
"Who said anything about stopping the wedding?"
His brother explained how they were going to trick their father into letting Frank marry Maria, Jae would sign the marriage certificate with his brother's name, and when it came time the the ceremony his brother would stand in. This was one of the perks of having a twin brother, you could play switcharoo on people and they would never know. Frank would give the signal to Maria to let her know it was him and not Jae, after everything was done, Jae would slip out the back; by the time their father found out the truth it would be too late. All they had to do was not let anyone find out they had switched places until after the ceremony was over and Jae was on a plane back home.
It was hard being away from Martin, he could still remember how the other man felt writhing underneath him as they made love, he could feel Richard wanting to take over and force him back to that house in the woods. The only thing keeping in control was the thought of seeing his brother get married and knowing his father would be furious when he found out he had lost once again. He had nothing but time on his hands since he knew his father would never let him out of that room until it was time for him to walk down the aisle and take his place at the front. All he could think about was what Martin was doing and how long it would be before he got to lay eyes on that beautiful blonde man again.
