We Are In Danger

1062 Words
William Pov I stayed outside of her bedroom watching as Aria spoke to Delilah. I also wanted to comfort her but I knew it wasn't my place. Aria left the room as Delilah went to sleep. I decided to just watch her. She looked so peaceful when she slept. Her face began to look concerned and I knew she was dreaming. She woke up and quickly sat up on her bed. She looked around. I wondered if she could feel me. She looked out the window and smiled. Even though she wasn't looking in my direction I knew she knew I was there. She ran into her closet and came back wearing a cardigan over her lilac dress. She opened the window and jumped out. "I know you know how to make mask my scent," she said to the air. "Make sure they don't know I left." She ran into the forest and after I cast a spell I ran after her. "Delilah," she quickly turned around and placed her lips on mine. I held on to her as tight as I could. "How can I just let you slip away, let you leave without a trace," she said. "I can't." "I know," "Can you just walk away from me, just like-," "I can't," I interrupted her and kissed her again. "I don't know what I will do without you." "I love my gift by the way," she held the necklace in her fingers. "I'm glad you like it," she smiled and I held her face in my hands. "Delilah your parents are right, whatever this is." "I know it is a long shot and it's not normal but I can't help it, there is nothing I want more," she said. I knew she wasn't lying but one day that might not be true. Her mate was out there and if she found him one day after we crossed a line we couldn't come back from. That would truly kill me. "I want you," she whispered as she leaned her body closer to mine. "I-," I didn't know what to say. I didn't want to cross that line. I wanted her to be safe and being by my side didn't make her safe. It put her right on the line of danger but I would die for her. "William," I was going to kiss her again. My name coming out of her mouth was music to my ears but I heard something in the distance. "We are in danger," I said. "Run back home." "No! I won't leave you," she shouted. She was so stubborn just like her mother. "Delilah, please I can handle them, I can't handle you getting hurt or worse," I told her. She looked at me with pleading eyes. "William," she cried. I looked over to what she was looking at. There were six rogues ready to attack. One leaped up in the air and was ready to land on top of Delilah. I ran to her as fast as I could and covered her from the attack. The wolf clawed at my back and I heard Delilah cry even harder. I tried to look into her eyes but her eyes were shut tight. "You're going to be okay," I told her as I kissed her cheek. I began to chant. I knew I was going to be weak after this attack and I needed to stop them now. "Desencadenar foc," I chanted. "Bufa el llop i esborra el mal." The wolves went up in flames and disappeared into ash. I rolled over onto the ground and winced in pain. "William," I heard Delilah cry out, and then everything went black.  I woke up in a white room with white curtains. "Where am I?" I asked. I knew someone was in the room but my eyes were still processing every image. "In my infirmary," I heard James say. "I told my daughter to stay away from you and yet she was with you and you were both attacked by rogues." "I'm sorry," "No you're not and I don't need your apology. I need your word. I need you to stay away from him," James pleaded with me. He didn't seem upset. He genuinely seemed worried and afraid. The time he lost Aria was heartbreaking for both of them. Especially for the part, I played in it. I know he doesn't want to lose his daughter so I had to do what I could to keep her safe. All these attacks were my fault. "William," Delilah came in tearfully. "Your awake, you're okay." "Yes," I tried to smile for her. She came over to hug me not caring that her father was in the room. I saw James roll his eyes at that but he still let it happen. "I'll take care of you," she said. "Delil-," James began but Aria came into the room and scared him from finishing his thoughts. "I'm sure Delilah will take good care of him," Aria said. "How about we go for a run," Aria gestured to James. "But," I knew James didn't want to leave his daughter with me but he also didn't want to disobey his wife. They soon left and Delilah went over to get me some water. Delilah changed my bandages herself. Her fingers running down my back was the worst pain I felt in my life. It was torture. I wanted her to touch me forever. Her touch was soft and smooth. It was warm and loving. She leaned down to kiss me when she was done. She sat on my bed and read to me. I told her my body would heal quickly but she wanted to keep me in this bed longer. She knew it was the only way her parents would let her and I be alone and this close. I stayed in the infirmary for three days but soon her parents knew what her little plan had been and told her to go home. I went back to the church I used to stay at in the town nearby. I thought about her every day and dreamed of her every night. I hadn't seen her in a week and everything seemed too quiet. Too calm. I knew it was only a matter of time before more danger came out and caused her more harm.
