Chapter 7

Today was the day. It was Greg's birthday. I hoped he would not be down about his dad not being there for his birthday. I hoped with all of us there to celebrate that would be enough for him. I know it would never take the place of his parents being there he had lost both of them. It was going to be hard. I could not even fathom not having family in my life. I loved my aunt Alice. She meant the world to me. Ever since my parents had been to busy to be there for me my aunt took over. She loved me as her own child. As she loved the Brady kids. I was thrilled to finally get to now know the Brady clan. I was grateful they were apart of my life. I finish wrapping Greg's gift I had made myself. I knitted him a sweater for this winter with matching gloves and a hat. Auntie had been teaching me how to knit. I think the set turned out rather nicely for my first go at it. I was not the greatest when it came to crafting. But I loved to try anything new. At least once. ♡♪♬♪♡ "Hey Daisy, can you place more balloons over on the wall there? We think it looks a tad lonely" jokes Jan as she points to the right-hand wall there in the dining room area. We were setting up for the birthday event. "Look everyone the cake is done!" calls our aunt Alice. We ohh and ahh. She comes carrying a cake that had three layers. It was beautiful. It was a dark chocolate brown. The frosting was to the point perfect. It smelled wonderful. We begin to add candles on the cake, to and light them one by one. Greg would be here any moment with Bobby. Jennifer was here with Pete. I was thrilled the two hit it off. ♡♪♬♪♡ "What a gorgeous cake Alice you really out did yourself" Jan praises Alice's culinary skills. "Really terrific cake" agrees Marcia. "He is going to flip when he sees it" says Peter. "Wow Alice" gushes Mrs. Brady. "wonderful cake" "Thanks all" says auntie. "Remember I love strawberry cake when it is my day" I joke. Everyone laughs. "Why are the lights so low?" I hear Greg say outside the door. "He is here!" calls out Jan. "get ready!" We hide around the room and giggle. "What is going on? Where is everyone?" Greg wonders as he comes in the room. "Happy birthday!" we all cheer loudly. A happy smile beams on his handsome face when he sees us. ♡♪♬♪♡ "Wow for me? You guys are the greatest" says Greg. We all hug him. He admires the cake. "Chocolate my favorite kind" he adds. "I know your dad always told me your favorite. He remembered each cake you kids had to have" Alice wistfully says. "Dad always made every birthday special" says Jan. "Remember when I had my slumber party?" asks Marcia. "Greg ruined it by practical jokes. And he added itching powder in our sleeping bags?" she adds. I giggle. "He didn't" "He did" says Jan. "I plead guilty as charged" laughs Greg. "I wish I had siblings to have fun like that" I sigh. "I did not have" "Now you have us" Marcia tells me. "Aw thanks" I giggle. "Blow out your candles Greg you have to make a wish" says Bobby. "Alright" says Greg. We go to the cake. ♡♪♬♪♡ "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Gregory happy birthday to you!" we all sing to him as he gets ready to blow out the candles on his cake. We all cheer as he blows out the candles. "What did you wish for?" asks Bobby. "I can't tell, or it won't come true" Greg jokes as he winks at me making be blush. Aunt Alice slices up the cake for us all and Mrs. Brady dishes out vanilla ice cream to. Greg was sitting beside me. He looked very handsome today. He was wearing a dark navy-blue shirt and blue jeans. The blue really made his eyes pop. I loved his handsome smile when it flashed my way. I wondered if Mr. Brady had the same smile. I never really saw many photos of him. "Look what I found the old album with Greg's birthday party photos in it" calls out Jan. "Oh no" groans Greg. "Pay backs bro for the itching powder" laughs Marcia. I had to see photos. I glance with Marica and Jan at photos of the past. Greg was a cutie back then to. I see him. Mr. Brady besides Mrs. Brady and Alice. He did look so much like Greg. The same hair the same smile. He really took after his father. All the Brady boys did. ♡♪♬♪♡ "Wow, Greg you look like your dad" I say. "He sure does" agrees Mrs. Brady. Greg is blushing. "What did you get Greg for his birthday? I am dying to know" asks Marcia as we take our plates to the kitchen to be washed. "I made him a little something for his birthday" I tell her. "I hope he will like it" "I am sure he will love it" Marcia tells me. "I knitted him a sweater" I tell her. "Aunt Alice had been teaching me how to knit" "How wonderful. She had taught us girls to" says Marcia. "She is a woman of many skills" I tease. "That she is" agrees Marcia. "Are you guys talking about me?" asks Alice. "Yes, we are and about how skilled you are at so many things" brags Marcia. "Aw I love you guys" says a happy Alice. We hug her. ♡♪♬♪♡ "I hope Greg loves what I made him" I sigh. "He will adore it" adds aunt Alice. "Present time!" calls out Mrs. Brady. We go back in the dinging room area. "Mine first" demands Marcia. She hands a gift to Greg. "Wow tickets for the movies" says Greg when he opens it. "So, you can take your date on dates" teases Marcia as she winks at me. "Thanks" Greg says. Before long he opens my gift up. "Wow this is beautiful! This set must have cost you a fortune" worries Greg as he holds up the sweater. "No, actually it did not" I tell him. "Are you sure? I bet it did" he argues. I shake my head. "I made it" I admit. "You! You made this?" he asks me. "Yes, I sure did" I add. "It is beautiful can you make me one?" asks Marcia. "I can pay for the materials" she adds. "I want one to" adds Jan. "Count me in" chimes in Mrs. Brady. "Really? You guys think it is good?" I giggle. "It is beautiful" says Marcia. "I love it thank you, I can't wait to wear it" says Greg. I kiss his cheek. "Happy birthday" "You really made my birthday special thanks for being here Daisy" he tells me sweetly. After the party was over with I an snuggling on the couch with Greg. "Did you really like the sweater?" I ask. "I love it because you made it" he adds. "Are you sure because I can make it in another color" I worry. "I love it. And I love you" I hear him say. "I love you. I am glad you had a great birthday" I say. We kiss. I hoped to share many more birthday memories with Greg. I loved him and I loved his family. I was blessed to have them in my life. •♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•♡•
