I could not believe that I was going to get married. I could hardly wait to tell everyone. Later that night we stopped by Greg's mother's house.
They knew he was going to pop the question tonight. So, we stopped by there. With everyone. When I walked in, I got a surprise.
There were balloons all over the place. And a congratulations sign on the wall for us. Cheering. Clapping.
Everyone was hugging us. It was really a joyous celebration. They were excited I had accepted Greg's proposal.
Now the fun could really begin.

"Oh, I am so happy for you!" gushes Mrs. Brady as she hugs me again. She glances at my ring on my hand. "What a huge, beautiful ring!" she praises Greg on the find.
Greg looks pleased.
"I love it and Greg. I was not expecting this" I tell her.
"I have something for you to. Something I had been saving for when someone else in the family gets married" speaks up Jan.
"What is that? You did not have to get me anything" I reply.
"I have had this a long time. This is your something old. Or can be your something old" she giggles. She hands me a box. It looked vintage. From the seventies.
I open it. Inside was a gold heart locket. She helps me put it on.
"Jan, you kept it after all these years?" gushes Aunt Alice.
She looked teary eyed.
"I did. Your aunt gave me this little locket. To bond with me. And she told me she was a middle child. I always wondered about her sister and brother she had. And her nieces. And now I met you. I always held onto this. Please borrow it and wear it on your wedding day. I hope you and Greg have a lot of kids one day. Maybe a middle child like Alice and I" laughs Jan.
I grin. I glance down at the locket. "I love it. I would be proud to wear it" I tell her.
"I did not know Alice was the one to gift you the locket" says Mrs. Brady.
"She did not want me to tell before. It was our secret" Jan says as she winks at Alice.
"I loved all you kids. But I wanted to tell Jan middle children are special to" Aunt Alice explains.
"It made me feel special" Jan promises her. They hug.
"Oh, I almost forgot about that locket" laughs Pete.
"You mean my little locket" jokes Greg. Jan blushes.
"What are you talking about?" I sigh.
"Jan got this mystery locket in the mail. No one knew where it came from. The typewriter dropped the y's on the letter. So, Mom and Dad were seeing if the other had sent Jan the mystery locket. Then Jan screamed when she went to bed one night. She lost the locket. She cried and worried for a few days. Then we reenacted the night she lost it" laughs Greg.
"Everyone acted like the night she lost the locket, and then she remembered where she might have lost the locket and found it" says Peter.
"Oh, my little locket" Bobby teases Jan.
"I lost it as mysteriously as it got here" jokes Peter.
"Shut up" Jan says as she laughs and swats Peter and Bobby. "I loved the locket. Still do" she tells us.
"I love hearing these stories" I giggle.
We all sit down. Mrs. Brady made us a cake. And there was punch. Greg gets the chair out for me. I sit down beside his chair. He holds my hand in his under the table. I feel his finger graze over the ring. He was very happy that I accepted. I was happy to.
I smile over at him.

"Here Daisy!" says Mrs. Brady as she hands me a piece of cake on a plate.
Then she hands Greg one. Alice was helping to pass the cake out.
I take a bite of cake. IT was my all time favorite. Buttercream frosting. And strawberry mix cake. I loved it.
Yum!
"How did you know that this was my favorite cake?" I ask Mrs. Brady.
"Alice told me" she admits with a smile.
"Oh, thank you Aunt Alice" I praise her. "This is the best cake"
"Thank you" says Mrs. Brady and my aunt at the same time.
"This has to be the best day of my life" I sigh.
"No, the best day will be when we say I do" says Greg.
"Where do you both want to go on your honeymoon?" wonders Marcia.
"Good question" says Cindy.
"I have always wanted to go to Paris" I say.
"Italy" answers Greg at the same time I answer.
"We have to think on that" I laugh as we look at one another. "I do not care where we go as long as we are together"
"Same" answers Greg.
I smile.
"This cake is great! This is what your wedding cake flavor should be" Cindy tells us.
"Gregory gets a say in the wedding to dear" Mrs. Brady reminds her.
Greg laughs.
"What mom says!" says Greg.
After we were done enjoying our cake we help Mrs. Brady to put the dishes in the sink as well as wash them. Then Mrs. Brady did not have any cake left. We headed over to our home. The others were heading home. Mrs. Brady and my Aunt stayed behind to chat for the night.

"That was so sweet of your mother" I tell Greg.
"I am glad. I knew she planned it out" he tells me.
"You are so sneaky" I giggle.
He hugs me.
"I can't wait to start the wedding planning." he says as we go into the house.
"I am super excited" I agree with him. "Where did your mother and father get married?" I ask.
He locks the door for the night. We still had boxes to unpack every where all over the place.
"My dad remarried to my mother at the back yard of her old house" he explains. "we brought the dog and the girls had the cat. The cat ruined the wedding. The dog chased the cat all over the place" he laughs.
I giggle. "Oh no"
"Then the dog runs right into the cake" he chuckles.
"That was a day no one could forget" I tease.
"Then dad yelled at us. Mom yelled at the girls about the cat. They felt so badly we all got to go on their honeymoon" he chuckles. "they came back to get us"
"Wow!!" I laugh. "what a wedding"
"Sure was" he agrees.
"Ours will be less exciting" I joke.
He pulls me in his arms and holds me.
"Maybe..." he laughs.
He kisses me.
"I would love a simple vintage like wedding! Could we have it in your moms back yard? I do not have a lot of people coming" I remind him.
"I love that idea and I bet mom would love it" he agrees.
"We could have photos of me when I was younger and you then of us now to. For guests to admire" I say.
"Good good idea" he agrees.
"Are you going to help with the planning Greg Brady?" I tease.
"Sure" he laughs.
"Alright? What are your ideas for our wedding?" I wonder.
He holds me closer. "I do not want a long engagement" he answers.
I giggle as he kisses me.
"You are so bad" I tease.
"I am not sure if you can wear white" he jokes.
"Shut up" I giggle.
He laughs as he holds me. We kiss. And I wrap my arms around his neck. I loved him so much.
