Chapter 19

Everyone at work was thrilled that Greg was going to get married. He was the one of the last Brady boys who had not been married yet. Peter had been first to marry out of the boys.
He may end up getting remarried by the looks of things. Jen was really smitten with Peter. I was planning the wedding in my brain all day long when I was answering phones. Jan had bought me bridal magazines to look at.
I was super hyped about this wedding. I wondered how soon Greg wanted to have kids. I would love to have a large family one day like the Brady's had. I never had a large family growing up.
I wished I had what Greg had. Now I did. I had a large family that I was going to be a part of. I was going to be Daisy Mae Brady. Mrs. Gregory Brady.
I smile as I lean on my desk. The phone rings. I answer Greg's calls. Then jot down the messages for him. After I was done, I dump the coffee from the pot.
I had to brew something fresh for the men when they came in. And I had to go into town to pick up an order of donuts as well. Greg liked his sweet treats. I grab my purse after making one more phone call answer.
Then left the phone answering machine on there. I head to the local donut shop. I spot Jen there with some other guy. This guy was not Peter. Pete would be hurt if he knew she was there with someone other then Pete. I wondered what was going on here.

"Daisy Mae hi" breaths out Jen. She looked flustered.
"Hi, I was picking up some donuts for Greg's office. What are you doing here?" I ask her.
"I am out. My cousin is in town. This is Harold" she says as we shake hands. I smile feeling better. Nothing to worry about here.
"Hi Harold. How are things?" I ask.
"I was thinking of moving here to town" he tells me. "I need a new job" he sighs.
"No work where you are now?" I question.
"Not really!" he answers.
"Jen what is going on? Why are you here with this...this bum?" exclaims Peter as he makes a scene coming in there. Jen looks shocked.
"Pete let me explain this is not what it looks like" she warns him.
"Here with another guy while I am at work. You could have at least told me you were seeing someone new" he huffs with anger.
I step up. "Pete listen this is not what it looks like" I warn him.
"Sure!" he snaps at me. "that is what they all say" he says.
"Peter Brady, don't you trust me at all?" sighs Jen.
"No, I don't and I do not trust any woman" he angrily retorts. "I am sure Daisy will soon cheat on Greg too one day"
"Hey!" I snap.
He storms out of there. Poor Jen is embarrassed her face is flushed now.

"Jen I am so sorry" I tell her.
"He never told any of you, but his ex-had been cheating on him. He has some trusting issues" sighs Jen. "I should have told him my cousin was here" she stammers.
"No Jen he has no right to treat you like that" I say.
"She is right Jen" warns Harold.
"I love Peter. I want him to trust me" she sniffs back tears.
They get their coffee and donuts to go. I felt so bad for Jen. I get the donuts for the shop. Then head back to the office. Peter was waiting to talk to me there. I did not know what to say. I really was in no mood to talk to him after what he pulled on Jen back there. I was angered.
"I am sorry. Jen did not tell me she was seeing someone else. And we had not talked about only seeing one another. I should have asked her. Maybe I am not ready to date" he mutters as he paces the floor there.
"Pete you are a complete goof!" I groan. "you sure have made a mess of things"
"What are you talking about Daisy?" he says looking offended.
"That was Jen's cousin. Not her date" I snap. 'you are a buffoon"
"I am" he groans. "why did I do that? I got so mad"
"You assumed. You have to learn to trust Jen. Not all women cheat. Not all men cheat. Cheating is a choice. I have known Jen forever. She never once has cheated that I know of on anyone" I warn him. "you need to talk to Jen"
"I do. I love Jennifer. I am scared I am going to lose her to. I fear I am my own worst enemy" he worries.
"You really can be Peter" I sigh.
"Tell her I am sorry" he begs me.
"Pete, I think you need to do that yourself" I say.
"I am sorry for what I said about you to" he tells me softly.
"Thanks Peter. I would never ever cheat on Greg. I love him" I say.
He nods. "I know you do"
"What is going on? Peter why were you not across town to meet Mrs. Henderson?" asks Greg as he walks in the office.

I take Greg aside and explain what happened downtown.
"I see. Peter you are a goof" sighs Greg.
"I know I am" says Pete. "I have to go talk to Jen. Before I lose her" he declares before running out of there.
Greg takes me in his arms. He kisses me.
"Thanks for coffee and the donuts" he says.
"You are most welcome. What Peter said to me really hurt me. He thinks so badly about us women" I sigh.
"He will work it out" says Greg.
"I hope so. I know Jen loves that goof" I giggle.
He kisses me. He holds me close.
"I talked to mom at lunch" he mentions.
"Yeah?" I ask.
He nods. "She loves the idea of having our wedding in her back yard where she and dad had their wedding"
"Great so she is on board?" I ask him.
"Yes, it is a go" he answers.
"Great news. We have our wedding day and our spot where we want to have our wedding" I gush with joy. "Everything is falling into place"
"Sure is" he agrees. He kisses me.
I return each kiss.

"I am so excited to marry you Greg" I sigh.
"Me to Daisy Mae" he answers me.
"Greg?" I ask.
"Yes honey?" he replies.
"Do you fully trust me?" I worry. "if you saw me out with another man, would you think I was cheating to?"
"No sweetheart. I know you would not cheat on me. And I would come to you and ask what was going on" he answers.
I smile then reach up and kiss him.
"I am glad you trust me" I say. I trusted him.
"What about you? Would you confront me with anger if you saw me with another woman and did not know what was going on?" he asks me.
"I would ask you first" I say. "then I still would want to claw her eyes out. I am a jealous girl. And I do not share" I tease.
He laughs. "You never have to share baby" he promises. "I am all yours"
He kisses me. My worries fade away. I could hardly wait to start this wedding.
