“Why the hell isn’t she tied up?” I startle and wake to Antony’s astonished face. “Michael took off the cuffs,” José replies, amused. “Huh?” Are you deaf or something, Antony? Get the hair out of your ears! Antony doesn’t like being mocked. He lets out a growl of irritation. “I heard him perfectly,” he snaps. I sit up slowly, still dazed. Every muscle protests when I move. My face burns and it feels like my cheek has tripled in size. I don’t know how long I slept, but it wasn’t nearly enough to recover from everything that happened. “Get up. Now!” Antony barks. He doesn’t give me time to react. He grabs my arm hard and yanks me out of bed. I wince and tug at him, hoping he’ll let go, but there’s no way. “Calm down, darling,” José reproves. “You’re too aggressive.” Antony freezes
