Lorenzo's POV;

Once Lily had knocked on her husbands office door and received a response she pushed the door open interrupting Lorenzo and the hooded person's discussion.

With a bow in reverence the hooded female know to Lily as Aurora acknowledge Lily's presence, saying " la servitude immortelle, la grande" ( the immortal servitude, the great one)

" don't mind me continue" said Lily as she cross the room to take a seat near the window, keeping a watchful eye

" something needs to be done about this, but not right now, we need to let things unfold" said Lorenzo

" unfold, are you mad, things have already pass the point of unfold, the pieces are bare before our eyes" said Aurora

" if we move now without being absolutely sure, it could be detriment to the union worst my family, and there is no room for mistakes with our new or old enemy, they know too much about the CUB, inside information that only clan members should know" said Lorenzo pursing is lips and looking to is wife for assurance in this decision

" il est temp que nous nous en occupions" ( its about time we handled this) Said Aurora in her native language, for she was getting upset

" ce n'est pas aussi simple" ( it's not that simple) said Lorenzo

" can we just calm down and think rational before we start planning anything" said Lily-Ann

" fine", with a sigh and an arch brow, "darling could you call Kross, we have much to discuss" asked Lorenzo

Lily simple dial kross's number and in no time Bradley stood before the three in Lorenzo's office

" bradley i would like you to meet Aurora, Aurora, Bradley my right hand"

" nice to meet you" greeted both parties

" i assume you know why i summoned you here"

" yes sir" said Kross keeping eye contact with lorenzo

" and i also believe you have questions as to why i have not been confiding in you" asked Lorenzo as he search Kross's features for resentment, for he truly have been keeping kross in the dark lately, and its not because he does not trust him.

" you're decision not to entrust me with what have been going on, and your reason are not for me to question sir" said Kross

" every well, take a seat for what i am about to divulge will not be brief" said Lorenzo signaling kross and Aurora to the Empty seat in front is desk, Kross took his seat but Aurora made no move to rest her feet as she stood Firm off to the side of Lorenzo's desk.

Lorenzo reclined in his seat with is finger running through his beard as he began to tell Kross the full events leading up to his daughters trial.

" an emergency head meeting was called by Trimone, Baldoor and Howard, they came together with an idea to allow our heirs to take on this years CUB meeting and ball, as a way to prepare them for the role they would soon have to occupy, when they came to me with the idea i thought nothing ill of it, i instantly saw it as a great idea, how naive i was"

pursing his lips out of anger as he continued to speak,

"After two days of sleeping on the matter i decided to put it to a vote, so i contacted each member and came out with a 17 to 3 yes/ no's on the matter,"

Kross arched his brows at Lorenzo's revelation, as to which lorenzo took as a question,

" the three no's were Stanley, Alexia and Pond" said Lorenzo

" with the majority in our favour i moved forward with designing the terms and condition for this medium, In doing this i wanted to stir the pot, to my own interest, because i was paranoid as to why things were so quiet within the clandestine, there was hardly any problems, misgiving or malicious behaviours and this made me wonder if something was being done in the shadows and i was right"

Lily-Ann ghasp at her husband last words for she had no idea that this was his doing,

" so you are telling me you knew all alone that someone would want to harm our daughter and u said nothing, you even made it so they could" asked Lily-Ann with fire in her eyes

" yes and no, i didn't know what was going on but i had my paranoia and it made me wonder why things were quiet, i knew there were those who hated my rule of the CUB and wanted to take aim at me but my lack of foresight to see they would go after Soraya instead was my downfall, but one good thing did come from my blunder, i now know its not just those in the clan that oppose my stature that i have gunning for me but outsiders as well" said Lorenzo hoping his statement calm is wife's furness

" its the Rennob program, the red ribbon assassin and Howard Pratt" said Lily-Ann with hatred in her voice

" Pratt!, are you sure about that?" asked Kross who was listening keen

" yes, she is sure, there is more to Pratt than even i would want to admit, for he may not have asked is son to seal the summon for soraya but i knew he counted on his sons relationship to do it for him" answered Kross before Lily could say anything

" so you are saying this is a deep conspiracy and pratt is working together with the assassin and the Rennob program?" Asked Kross as the worry lines in his forehead show

" oh yes and one more person, Cindy, for i don't bye that blond snakes helpless act, she knows more, much more" said Lorenzo

" but what about Trimone and Baldoor they came to you with the idea as well, why don't you suspect them" asked kross who knew the Vadeem's were digging around in the De'luca's business

" but i do" gesturing to Aurora who was standing silent, " my source tell's me Baldoor is up to so much, he had a secret meeting with the young up coming East India drug lord, who wanted to join the CUB, Gerard Schweizer and both you and Soraya met with Terrence Vadeem" said Lorenzo which made Kross sit up in concentration

" my meeting with Terrence had nothing to do with the De'luca family" said Kross defending is self but Lorenzo raised his hand stopping is defense

" no need to defend i trust you Kross but what i misstrust is my daughter feelings for that boy, his timing to enter my daughters life is suspicious at best" said Lorenzo

" so is that all there is to know about what's going on" asked Kross

" no, there is something else, there was mention of my uncle Alandro, the way he died was a secret to the clandestine, so someone who knows much about my family has been talking and i don't know who for the only persons living that knew about him been assassination by the ted ribbon is Lily-ann Catherine and I," said Lorenzo

" then I'm betting neither of your would say anything for i knew nothing of it and i am your second" said Kross

" of that you are right, there is something sinister going on, a war is coming Kross and we best prepare for it" said lorenzo in a heavy tone

" we will be boss, now that our enemies have stepped from the shadows we have a better chance to defeat them" said Kross standing to his feet

With a sight, lorenzo got up as well coming to stand at the front of his desk mare meters from Kross, " Kross there is one thing i must ask you" he said

" asked away" replied Kross

" is there anything you want to tell me" asked Lorenzo with a simple look on his face, Kross stared Lorenzo in the eyes as he said " no, nothing boss" then he took his leave from the room

Lorenzo went back to sit around is desk and Aurora step forward to face him

" i don't trust him" she said looking concerned

" Aurora you don't trust any one" replied Lorenzo

" dame right i don't, trust is a mistake, please persuade him to see your great one" she said directing her words to Lily

" trust isn't always bad Aurora, you may go now and please give her my best" said Lily-Ann

" i will, great one" said Aurora with a bow then she took her leave

Once it was just Lorenzo and Lily-Ann left in his office he ask his wife the one question that plagued him

" do you think keeping all these secrets from our kids is the right thing, you're cabal, our family's lienage"

" for now, yes" she replied

" i hope you are not thinking of telling them anything Lorenzo, Soraya and Sorenzo aren't ready for the full truths of this family, trust me, especially about Raven, Soraya isn't ready" said Lily as she walk to her husband's side

" im not planning anything, it's just that with Alandro's secrets coming out like that for them to hear, i would have felt betrayed if i were them, and i know a lot of me is in them" said Lorenzo with his hands on his wife's leg for she was now sitting on his desk before him.

Reaching to stroke his cheeks, Lily leaned in so her forehead rest on his creating eye contact, and in a whisper she said, " i love you and hour children more than anything and i will always do what is best, not what is right for my family, for the right thing is not always best"

Lorenzo pulled his wife from the table and rest her in his lap, Lily-Ann threw her arms around her husband neck and kissed once they parted the strangest thing happened there was blood coming from Lorenzo's mouth.
