“Stop being so ridiculous. I do not want my father to see you here.” Katrina flared. “We should think about getting you out of here before he walks inside.” Her head was in a spin. She struggled to think clearly enough to come up with a solution. “And I asked that we refrain from having s*x here. We could have simply gone to your residence. Now look at the mess you have made for me.” She berated Walters for what had occurred. “Enough of this self-pity. It is not my fault. Do not pretend you did not want it, either. If you were serious about it, you would have declined.” Walters responded with a clap back. Kelly called out again, this time screaming at the top of his lungs, as he leaned forward against Katrina's room door. “I know you are in there. Why aren't you answering? I have called for more than an hour.” Katrina ordered Walters to go inside the bathroom right away while she hid his clothes and shoes, making indistinct chatter. She opened the door and pretended to be asleep after ensuring that Walters was no longer visible. “What exactly are you doing here, Dad? I assumed you were seeking employment?” Katrina yawned to persuade her father, but he was not fooled. Kelly had a suspicion that she was hiding something. He popped the question, his gaze narrowing all around. “Why is your room so disorderly? I called a thousand times and never got a response. You are also perspiring. Is everything important?” “Yeah, Dad. I am doing just fine. I felt a little ill. I had to get some medication to feel better,” Katrina lied, delivering an Oscar-worthy performance. “Holy Grail!” Kelly exclaimed in shock. "Kelly suggested, "we take you to the doctor. I'm concerned about your health.” “I will be just fine. Did you end up getting the job? You rang me from a different phone. What of yours?” Katrina quickly veered away from the main topic of conversation. Kelly sighed and turned to face the ground. He remained speechless and concerned. He could not explain to Katrina how he was robbed. Kelly motioned to Katrina's bed and quietly sat down, his hands beneath his jaw. “How do I describe this to you? I have got good and bad news.” “What are you saying? Your suspense is slowly tearing apart my soul. Please say something!” Katrina became agitated. She could not stand his prolonged silence. Kelly stood up, held her hands, and explained everything that had happened. Apparently, he got robbed of his valuables while he went job hunting. Immediately he arrived at the company, it turned out that the CEO of the company is Kelly's best friend from high school. Due to excitement, Kelly was gifted two thousand dollars, with the promise of improving his life again. What a heartbreaking tale! His story elicited mixed responses. "Why do I have the impression you are hiding something?” Katrina inquired. None of this made sense to her. She could tell from his body language that he had a skeleton in the closet. Aside from losing his phone and cash in a robbery, Kelly appears unimpressed when discussing the large sum George gave him. “I suppose I already have to tell you. You are entitled to know the truth.” Kelly stammered as he revealed the shocking truth. Katrina will be getting married to George's billionaire son, Conor, in an arranged marriage. Kelly also revealed a promise he made to George while they were in school. Walters covered his mouth to stop the screaming. He could not believe what he was hearing. The question that plagued his mind as he was boiling with rage and disgust was. "Why is her father so unkind? I cannot stand by and do nothing while she is forcibly taken from me. Deep down, he wanted to come out of his hiding place and punch Kelly, but he decided to wait until he was out of Katrina's room. “This is a joke, Dad, right? How can you stand in front of me and say those words knowing they will hurt me?” Katrina's cries. It took her over an eternity to speak up. The situation has completely overwhelmed her to the point where she can't even think straight to save her life. “Are you aware that I have a serious relationship with Walters? I am disappointed in you, Father. This gentleman is completely unknown to me. How do I love someone I have yet to meet? Does that make sense?” She continues to rant. “Just be patient. You will eventually come to love him. You are getting married to his son, and that is it. I suppose you are not too young to become an orphan, right?” Kelly sounded a threat, implying a suicide note-like message. " It is either Walters or nobody. He may not be wealthy right now, but I believe he has a bright future, at least better than someone I do not even know," she yelled at her father, who responded with a thunderous slap. Kelly slammed the door and walked out, angrily saying, “Make your decision now.” Katrina had to check the house a few minutes later to confirm his departure. She became so engrossed in her thoughts that she forgot about Walters' hiding place in the bathroom. “I heard it all!” Walters stepped out of the blue. “I would rather not talk about it right now. You had a difficult day. I would like to go home right now,” Walters frowned as he exited the bathroom and dressed majestically. Katrina shivered and remained speechless. She could not get closer to Walters because she knew how volatile he was. Walters walked out of the house right in front of her without saying goodbye. It was two thirty PM. At the Maynard's Mansion, the night was still calm and reenergized. The air smelled like honeysuckle and throbbed. “Son, I hope you do not think about marrying Melissa?” George reaffirmed, leaving Conor in shock. Everything seemed to be moving so fast. “But I am not interested in marriage. How can I explain this to my girlfriend, Melissa?” Conor yelled at his father as they were on the verge of fighting. “You have seven days to walk down the aisle with Katrina, or consider yourself excommunicated from the family inheritance. Tony, your younger brother, will receive all of your inheritance.” George posed a threat. "He is a greater man than you will ever be. At your age, you still live under my roof, whereas your brother has long since got himself a flat. “I just wish your mum was…" “Do not you dare to speak ill of my mother? Take her name out of your mouth!” Conor cuts in sharply. He received a thunderous slap as a reward. He caressed his cheeks in rage and returned to his room, only to discover Melissa packing her belongings and preparing to leave the house. “What exactly are you doing?” He asked her. “I am assuming you are not blind. I overheard every word your father said to you.” Melissa wailed as she tried to exit the room with her luggage. “Can we still talk about this?” He begged and seized her box. “We have nothing to talk about. What I do not understand is why your father continues to control you like you were a child.” Melissa wept like a child before leaving.
