Rosie’s P.O.V The silence in the room felt heavier than it had ever been. I sat there, wrapped in a blanket that still smelled faintly of Kai, though the warmth had long left it. But it wasn’t Kai i was thinking about now. It was the baby. Dan’s baby. The words echoed in my head like a cruel joke. A baby. From Sylvia. I stared at the door Eleanor had walked through just moments ago, still trying to piece everything together. How? How could Sylvia have had a child and no one knew? Not even her own mother, Sabrina. Unless they were all lying. Unless this was another manipulation, another trap, another sick game played by a family that had already cost me so much. But then again… the baby. That baby looked real.
