Chapter Three

1084 Words
*Third Party Point of View*     It was rare for a private jet to land anywhere in Montana, let alone in a small town in the Flathead Valley area, but the occupants of the jet couldn't help but understand why Montana got the nickname of big sky country as they stepped off the plane.  The bright blue sky seemed that much larger even with mountains surrounding them on every side, they barely seemed to take up any space against that brilliant sky.      One of the men leaving the plane smiled, one hand smoothing out his suit before he headed towards the waiting vehicle.  His black hair was a bit on the long side, brushing the collar of his suit, his eyes hidden behind dark glasses.  He had heard that this was one of the best places to escape for a while, and was curious what the area would hold for him here, if it would be worth the trip.  An older man rather heavyset man was waiting near the car he was walking towards, his thinning hair doing a bad job with the combover he had tried to do.     "Mr. Blake, so glad you made it, I hope that it was an easy flight for you.  I'm sure it was that must be a wonderful thing to have your own jet that you can just go where you want when you want..." The man started a nervous ramble while the one referred to as Mr. Blake simply raised an eyebrow and looked behind him to another man who was following him with a playful smirk.     "Ah, Mr. Jones, I'm amazed you were able to be here to meet with Mr. Blake and myself, after all you sounded so busy on the phone before I was able to tell you that he would be coming with me to review the area and the property in question."  The man who started talking when he caught up had sandy blond hair and a twinkle in his hazel eyes that stood out against he tanned skin.  "I'm Alex Trine, and I believe we spoke on the phone before. "     "Ah, Mr. Trine, yes we did, uhm when you stated the importance of this I thought I would clear some...uhm...time to take you both around and show you the best areas."  Mr. Jones had turned a touch gray at the mention of the prior call, but was doing his best to recover.    Alex on the other hand continued to grin while waiting for him to continue.  "So I...ah....figured I could offer to be your tour guide..."     "Oh, what a great offer for me and the big guy here, but I will need to let you know, I lived here before and have kept up on the changes to the area, so aside from when we contact you otherwise, once Mr. Blake has made a decision, we really have no reason to take your valuable time."     Alex continues to grin and motions Mr. Blake towards the passenger side of the waiting car, before heading towards the driver's side.  The two didn't bother looking back at Mr. Jones as they drove off.     "So what's first on the agenda now that you finally convinced me to visit your home town, Alex?"     Alex angled his head a touch to glance at his friend and boss, smiling a bit as he did so.  Alex had been working for Damian Blake for years now, and knew that his friend had been working too hard for too long alone and had his own ideas on what he needed.     "First, we need to get you some clothes to help you blend in my friend, this area isn't exactly some place you see an high number of three piece suits....and then, to celebrate our successful start to this, how about a couple beers and some pool?"  Alex grinned knowing that Damian loved to pay pool, and had a decent signing voice after a few drinks, and with it being Wednesday night, he knew just the place to take him for both after getting him some more appropriate clothes for the area.     "Sound's like a plan, and I take it you already have a place in mind?" *Nicole's Point of View*     I finished dinner and headed to the shower after talking with my kids and mom about the day and how things had gone.  As much as I wanted to just stay under the hot spray I knew I needed to get a move on things as Adam and Jen would be there soon to pick me up.  Keeping the warm night in mind, and Jen's request for me to dress up a little, I found a different pair of jeans, these ones with a torn and faded look, but still fitted, and paired them with my boots, a black crop top, and a denim vest, showing the rose tattoo on my left hip and that I still had a belly button piercing, even at my age.     After dressing and blow drying my hair, I got to work applying my make-up, starting with a lip stain so I wouldn't have to keep re-applying through the night, I did my eye shadow and eye liner, and ended with a slight blush, not bothering with mascara as I had naturally long and thick eye lashes.     Feeling a buzz from my phone I saw that Adam and Jen were waiting for me, I grabbed my pool stick, a coat, and headed towards the door giving hugs to my girls and reminding them to be good.  I headed out the door to their promises of good behaviors and wishes for fun.     Adam and Jen saw me coming towards the car to get in the back seat, and Adam felt the need to pull forward a bit as I was trying to get in.  Jen of course laughed at her husbands behavior and me cursing him.     "What was that for this time!" I hollered at him.     "Fun of it....and I haven't gotten brownies or fudge in a while."     Rolling my eyes I laughed, "So all I need to do is make sure next week I have a treat for you?"     "That's right, maybe even before next week."     I grinned as we started down the highway towards our favorite spot. Jen caught my eye in the rearview mirror.     "Ready to cause some trouble?"     "Always."
