Meeting the Princess

Lily POV The castle was stunning, words can't describe its beauty. The guards were looking proud in their uniforms, and eyeing us with concern, if not for Eli we definitely would have been detained. Jax smelling like a rogue would be off putting. Not all rogue shifters are evil, some are lone shifters by choice leaving their packs for whatever reason, and others have been casted out by their pack. Jax is classed as a lone shifter, but packs are still wary of rogues no matter what, they are always classed as a danger until they can prove otherwise. As the guards were watching us, Eli stopped and waited for us to catch up, his arm snaked out around Jax's waist pulling him into his chest, he glared and growled at the guards, "Mine." Eli's aura started flowing out of him, causing the guards and everyone around us to submit to him, bowing and showing their necks. His aura reached out to me demanding I submit to him, something which would never happen. Jax's voice cut through the tension, "Eli, stop. They are just doing their jobs." Eli huffed and pulled his aura back in, people around us were starting to straighten up and looking at Jax with surprise and relief. Jax looked up into Eli's eyes, "Let's go, leave them be. You can't ask them not to be on guard when their job is to protect." Eli huffed again, "You don't have to be all logical about it. " A frown formed on his face, he turned to look at me. He obviously knew I didn't submit to him, even though I was behind him. s**t. I smiled at him as innocently as I could. Jax looked up at Eli, "Love we need to get moving. We can't keep Her Highness waiting." Eli turned and the tips of his ears were red, "Your right, let's go." Jax looked at me and mouthed, "Your welcome." I followed the boys, Eli had a strong grip on Jax's hand as he led us through the castle, the entry foyer was grand with a huge staircase in the center, a crystal chandelier hanging over it, all the colours were a mix of gold, black and navy across the walls. The floors were a polished marble, with dark gray veins running through it. On each side of the main door, there were 2 doors. Eli led us through the door on the right, and into what I am assuming is the throne room. At the end of the room, up several stairs on a raised platform, were three gold thrones, all with a plush looking back in navy, and ornate markings over the top. I couldn't help looking around the room and comparing it with home. My magic once again trying to claw its way, along with something else. I could feel her knocking on my mental blocking wanting to speak with me. It had been years, no centuries since she had wanted to talk with me. She started banging hard causing me to wince. Jax was in front of me in a second, "Lil, are you okay?" His concern was heavy, causing Eli to take more notice of me. Not what I need right now. I held my head, "Yeah, just a headache. I haven't one in so long it just surprised me." Jax frowned, "A headache?" A look of recognition crossed his face, "s**t, maybe you should go rest. I can talk with Her Highness." Goddess why did she have to have such bad timing, I gathered some of my magic and slammed it against my mental block. The banging stopped, I pushed out into the block, "Not now, Later." I waited for it to continue but nothing came, sweet silence filled my head. "I'm fine Jax. This is important the sooner we can meet with Her Highness the better." "Are you sure Lil? If not I ca-" I cut him off, "I'm fine Jax, stop worrying." Eli was watching us with interest, I could only hope he hadn't been able to pick up on her presence otherwise I'm well and truly f****d. I watched him from the corner of my eye, if he had sensed something he would have said something, right? Suddenly a door opened and the sound of heels clicking across the floor, drawing our attention forward. Eli bowed his head, I looked at Jax and followed. "You may rise." Her voice was soft, standing up laying eyes on the princess, she was beautiful, long blonde curls ending towards her lower back, high cheekbones, and light blue gray eyes, almost the colour of ice. I was expecting her to be wearing a gown of some sort, but she was wearing a white pant suit, with thin gray pinstripes, and a dark blue blouse with ruffles up towards her neck. She had finished her look wearing a pair of silver looking heels. I guess it had been an extremely long time since I had stepped foot inside of claimed territory let alone been in contact with anyone of rank. She had perched herself on the throne to the left, "Gamma, you said these people have information for His Majesty." Eli stepped forward and looked the princess in the eyes, "Yes your Highness, they said they have information regarding the recent demon and rogue attacks." Eli then stepped off to the left of the princess and gave Jax a wink. This didn't go unnoticed by the princess, "Gamma is there something amusing to this situation I should know about?" Eli laughed, "No Cali, this kitty is my mate." Jax gapped at his informality with the princess, I was a little bit surprised at his behaviour however it wasn't uncommon for the higher ranks of packs and kingdoms to be almost as close as family. It was however uncommon for them to show this in front of strangers. The princess stood up and squealed, "Eli!!!! Oh my Goddess, why didn't you say something sooner." She ran straight at Jax and hugged him, "Welcome to the family, ohh look at you." She took in his scent, "Ohhh and a werecat." Jax was looking at me, I couldn't help but laugh at him. From the princess's attitude I know that Jax would be in safe hands when I leave. Eli seemed pleased at the princess's reaction, "Cali, please don't scare him. I kinda want to keep him." The princess removed herself from Jax and smiled, "It's a pleasure to meet you...... wait I don't even know your name." Jax seemed to shake of his surprise, "My name is Jax your High-" The princess cut him off immediately, "You are family now Jax, please call me Cali unless we are in a formal setting. I hope we can be good friends, we will be working closely after all." Jax seemed to be in a small state of awe, the princess looked over his shoulder and took in my appearance. I couldn't help but compare us, she was rather tall and the heels didn't help either. My ebony locks were only at my shoulders, my hair was definitely all over the place from our travels. My curls had dropped into untamed waves. My eyes are a deep green almost close black from the distance she was standing from me. We are polar opposites. She smiled at me, "And you are?" I smiled at her and lowered my head, "Lily, Your Highness." "It's a pleasure to meet you Lily, I assume you are a friend of Jax's?" She looked between the two of us, we really couldn't even claim to be related, our looks were too far apart. Trying not to let my irritation show, "Yes, Your Highness. We have been friends for a number of years now." "Well in that case, you may call me Cali as well. Follow me, we shall move to the sitting room." We followed her through a set of doors off to the left, the sitting room lavish but still cozy enough to be called a sitting room. It had a beautiful fireplace, covered in stone with bookcases either side and cream coloured couches with a matching set of armchairs. Cali took a seat in one of the armchairs, while Eli took the couch dragging Jax down with him. I smiled and sat opposite the Princess in the last chair. I watched Cali's eyes glaze over for a brief second, she was mindlinking. I drifted my gaze to Eli, his eyes clear and focused on Jax. They were so good together, the Moon Goddess definitely made a perfect match with these too, Jax needed someone a little more forward to balance him back out. "Okay, now what is this information you have for my brother?" Cali's voice had taken on a serious tone. I cleared my head of my thoughts, okay I need to remember that the plan is to give over the information they need, without them knowing who I am. Breathing deep, "Right, the demons are using the rogues as a distraction to weaken the Royal's forces." Cali's and Eli's face showed no reaction, s**t. Maybe they already knew this. "The possession method that demons are using is old, ancient even. There are only a few witches on the continent that are able to perform the exorcism." I was holding my breath, "The Dragon King, will be able to supply you names and the resources needed. At this stage I believe he is unaware of the methods being used." I looked up to see Cali and Eli's face filled with shock. Okay so they didn't know about this yet. Okay. Breath Lily, Breath. You need to spill this one last piece, then you can back across the continent, potentially further. "The demons seemed to have focused all their attacks on where the Royal Council has hidden the Demon God's Soul Stones. I am unsure whether the Council has noticed this yet, as some of the attacks have been scattered around to weaken the Royals, but the demons have already 3 out the 8 Soul Stones." Everyone was speechless, Jax gave a look full of encouragement. Eli and Cali's eyes were glazed over, they were clearly mindlinking each other. I could only imagine what this information meant for them. It was told that over a millennia ago the Gods and Goddess made their way to earth to explore and mingled with their creations. They stayed for months, some even stayed for years. However, they had sworn to each other they would not reproduce with their creations, the Goddess Hecate broke this promise. She bore a child with male witch, Hecate didn't mean for it to happen, but once she was pregnant, she couldn't bear to get rid of the child. The Demon God Hades was Hecate's closest friend and lover, he took this broken promise in great offense. Hecate tried to reason with Hades, she had managed peace with all the other Gods and Goddesses. She hadn't been able to bear a child from another God, so she pleaded with him for her to allow her child to grow. Hades seemed to be pacified for a while, until she gave birth. Once the child was born, his rage was magnified. He started to wreak havoc with all of Hecate's creations, witches. They took the brunt of his rage. This eventually led to war between the species, the Gods and Goddesses stepped in. They fought Hades, the battle lasted days, when finally they cut through him and removed his soul stone. The Soul Stone being the very center of his being and power, they split his stone into 8 pieces. For some unknown reason they decided to leave the pieces of the soul stone with their creations. Us. To protect them and keep them out of the demons' reach.
