Chapter Six - Contractions

Three months have gone by and Julie RavenWolf was close to her due date. You would think that witches are like werewolves, giving birth at six months but their bodies are more humane than a beast. Sure, Julie is carrying a pup inside of her but for being a witch; Julie is more human to have a normal pregnancy like humans do. Even in the history of witches, there hasn’t been information about them giving birth. Since everyone knew witches are not capable of falling in love, there was no record of witches giving birth.

Julie RavenWolf is nine months pregnant, healthy, and standing strong. She is close to having her child along with Carla Weaver who was also close to her due date. Even though they are one week apart, Carla was already feeling the contractions while Julie was still waiting for hers. Everyone was excited to meet Carla’s new bundle of joy but were more curious and worried why Julie hasn’t started yet.

“These contractions are getting a lot stronger and closer in time. We must prepare for our child to be born, Elias,” said Carla who was currently lying in bed with her legs bent and apart. She was taking deep breaths while holding Elias right hand and putting pressure on him.

“Just breathe, baby, just breathe slow for me. Soon our child will be here and you don’t have to deal with the contractions anymore,” said Beta Elias.

Uterine contraction, for those who do not know, is the tightening of muscle fibers that occur briefly and intermittently throughout pregnancy and more regularly and forcefully during active labor. When the pain starts, they feel like menstrual period cramps. Many may feel the pain on their stomach, legs, thighs, or their v****a and also their backs. It is a pain in the ass to go through labor. The best way to deal with uterine contraction is breathing exercises which may help control pain caused during labor.

“How are you doing so far, Mrs. Weaver,” said the pack doctor who just came barging into the room.

“The contractions are every 3-4 minutes apart but it’s a pain in the ass. I want the pain to go away. This is your entire fault, Elias. If only you were the one giving birth, you would know how it feels to go through such pain,” said Carla.

“Ah, come on, baby. I can’t take all the blame. It is your fault you couldn’t resist me and keep your damn legs closed. I had to please my lady and look where it let us. Now, hush and let’s get this over with. Soon our lil beast will be here,” said Beta Elias while Carla was shooting daggers through her eyes staring at Elias with rage.

“Now, now, calm down both of you. We don’t have time for an argument and let’s get your child out of you. You are already 10 centimeters dilated. You may push when your next contract starts,” said the Pack Doctor while in position with her hands ready to reach for the baby’s head.

“Push, baby push,” said Beta Elias.

“Shut up, I don’t want to hear from you,” said Carla while pushing through each contraction and was so frustrated about the whole labor.

“Push, baby, don’t get all angry at me,” said Beta Elias.

“I see the head. Keep on pushing,” said the Pack Doctor.

“Ah, congratulations, it’s a boy. Have you decided on any names,” said the Pack Doctor while cleaning up the baby before giving Carla the baby.

“Thank you. His name will be Levi Isaiah Weaver,” said Carla who was exhausted.

On Carla's last push, baby Levi Isaiah Weaver was born and everyone was celebrating with joy. Carla soon began to relax and held her baby boy in her arms. He was a 9lb baby and a chubby lil guy. He has his dad’s eyes, blue, and mom’s facial features. He is a handsome lil hybrid.

Soon from across the packhouse, you can hear screams from Julie RavenWolf. It sounded like she was finally having contractions and ready to give birth. Everyone expected Julie to give birth first before Carla but her lil child seems to not want to come out. Soon the pack doctor has arrived in her room and started to evaluation her condition. Then the Pack Doctor was puzzled for a while.

“Julie, your baby has been ready to come out but it seems to be the baby does not want to come out yet. If she doesn’t come out anytime soon, we are going to have to do a cesarean,” said the Pack Doctor who was very worried for Julie.

“No, don’t. I do not want a cesarean. I’ll make this baby come out. Ramon, please help me here. I need for you to press down on my tummy on a count of three. Put your whole weight into it. This child must come out,” said Julie who has experience with delivering the baby’s in the past.

“Sure, babe,” said Alpha Ramon while getting in position with his hands over Julie’s belly.

“I suggest you don’t do that, Julie. You can tear very badly and we don’t know if it will be healthy for the baby” said the Pack Doctor.

“I know what I am doing, Doc. Get ready to catch the baby,” said Julie.

“Ok, here we go. One, two and push,” said Alpha Ramon who pressed down on Julie’s tummy, and out came a baby girl, Red Rose Windsor.

“Oh my, it’s a beautiful girl. And red hair,” asked the Pack Doctor?

 “Well, it runs in the family. Let me see her, Doc,” said Julie.

The Pack Doctor quickly cleaned up the baby girl and wrapped her up in a blanket. Then the doc gave the child to Julie and left the room. Julie was in tears when she held onto her child.

“I’m going to name you, Red Rose Windsor. It was your father's choice of name. Welcome to this new life of yours, Red,” said Julie with tears and love in her eyes.

“That is such a beautiful name, Julie. Her name suits her and she will grow up to be very beautiful just like her mother,” said Alpha Ramon while lying right next to Julie in bed hugging both Julie and Red at the same time. Red Rose Windsor was just smiling at both of them with such green beautiful eyes. Her skin color was more white than Snow White. She looked like a porcelain little doll with red hair. They knew Red was going to have lots of boy trouble following her around. No one has ever seen a little girl with green eyes and Red hair. Maybe, it’s because she’s a hybrid to carry such beautiful features. No one knows.
