Chapter 1: Birth
In a vast cavern, stalactites of varying lengths hung naturally from the ceiling.
Suddenly, with a rumble, one slender stalactite broke off and fell, landing on a peculiar, one-meter-tall, oval-shaped egg below.
As the stalactite shattered into pieces upon impact, it became clear that this egg was exceptionally sturdy.
Around it were various other eggs, neatly arranged, differing in shape but similar in size, all stacked on a conical stone pile.
Another tremor echoed through the cavern, and from a distant corner emerged a colossal creature.
Standing at a towering height of over a hundred meters, its dark red, diamond-shaped scales covered its entire body. Each step taken by its massive hind legs sent tremors through the cavern. Its long tail dragged behind, smashing any rocks in its path to dust with casual swings.
Its muscular arms, hanging naturally by its sides, seemed to hold immense power, with claws sharp as blades. The wings on its back were covered in fine red scales.
Atop its short, thick neck was a head adorned with red scales. Its protruding cheeks featured a mouth full of sharp teeth, exhaling hot breaths that warped the surrounding air.
On its head were two curved, spiral horns, and below them, a pair of golden eyes gleamed with intelligence.
Upon entering the cavern, the giant creature headed straight for the pile of eggs.
"Hmm... I wonder if any of the little ones are eager to see the world," it murmured softly.
Despite the creature's fearsome appearance, its voice was surprisingly gentle and melodious.
Bending down, it brought its golden eyes close to the eggs, gazing at them with a tender and earnest expression, though its face could show no emotion other than ferocity.
"Oh wow! By the Creator Dragon, there are five little ones this time!"
Its breath, hot enough to warp the air, washed over the eggs, which remained unaffected, as if caressed by a gentle breeze.
After carefully inspecting the eggs, it selected five and placed them on the ground, then lay down beside them, eyes filled with anticipation.
...
"Where am I?"
Opening his eyes, he saw only darkness, his golden, slit-pupil eyes filled with confusion.
So cramped!
As he moved, the word "cramped" popped into his mind.
It seemed he was enclosed in something.
Suddenly, his pupils contracted, and a flood of memories surged into his mind.
As these unfamiliar yet intriguing memories played out, he was filled with questions.
"What are those moving things?"
"They are humans!"
"And the four-legged ones?"
"No, those are dogs!"
"What about those square things that can move?"
"Those are cars!"
"And the square things that can't move?"
"Buildings!"
...
Questions arose in his mind, each answered by a mysterious voice.
Gradually, a vivid and dangerous world took shape in his mind, a world dominated by creatures called humans, filled with various other beings and creations.
"So... that’s the outside world? Is that where I’ll live?"
"No, that was my world. You’ll have to see yours for yourself."
"Who are you?"
"I? I am your father!"
"Where are you? Why can’t I see you?"
"I am among the stars. To see me, you must find your own way there!"
"The stars? What are they?"
"Stand on the ground and look up. What you see is the stars!"
"Why are you there?"
"We come from the stars. The stars are our dream, ambition, future, and home. We are star dragons, born free like the stars!
Remember your name, Falbler Vett!
Remember... I am waiting for you among the stars!"
"The stars... freedom..."
Vett repeated these words softly, his golden eyes shining with a newfound dream.
Suddenly, a faint cracking sound reached his ears...
...
"Do-Ah!"
With a youthful roar, a small, golden life burst into the world!
Then... he turned and began to munch on his eggshell.
Nearby, a small creature covered in red crystals watched and swallowed nervously, then tentatively approached the golden hatchling.
However, a sudden gust of wind knocked the red-crystal-covered creature over!
A thunderous voice followed.
"No! Billy! That’s not yours!"
The little dragon with red crystals, Billy, withdrew reluctantly.
He noticed the golden dragon's hostile gaze and wisely stepped back.
According to his inherited memories, this golden one, a dragon with muscles for brains, was called a Gold Dragon.
Unfortunately, of the four that hatched, none were his kind.
Sighing, he glanced at the other two hatchlings, then turned his eyes to the last egg.
Hoping for a kindred spirit, he watched as the silver egg began to c***k.
But when the silver dragon emerged, it merely glanced at the others before starting to eat its shell, showing no interest in interaction.
Seeing this, Winter's originally kind gaze turned stern.
"Drakeling!"
