When my eyes open again, Andy is asleep next to me holding my hand. Who is he, should I know him? I feel like I know him but I don't understand. I try to slip my hand back, but his grip tightens jerking awake.
"I'm sorry-" my voice is hoarse, barely getting the words out.
"It's okay." He releases my hand to stretch and yawn. " Do you remember anything?" I shake my head and hug my knees. I don't even remember my name.
"I wanna show you something." he bends down and grabs a backpack with a yellow and black bat on it. "This was your backpack, well one of them. Every time it would fall apart you wanted a new one." He said smiling flipping the bag to face him. I see the straps are black both with an arrangement of yellow letters.
A B B Y B I E R S A C K
Confused I reach for the straps,
"What does this say." He looks at me confused.
"Your name. You don't remember?" I shake my head.
"I can't even read it." I can't make out his face everything's starting to blur. Andy sighs
"When I met you your name was Abigail Mitchell but you liked being called Abby." He points to the strap with more letters, "When we got married, You took my last name, Biersack." He stands handing me a picture of us being attacked by 5 kids as a teenager laughs.
"We have a family...." I whisper as he takes what looks to be a light stick off the wall causing me to freak out and stumble off the bed.
"Whoa whoa whoa, it's okay sweetie. Look." He touches the light to his skin but it doesn't hurt him... I touch the fresh burn marks on my neck as Andy sits, trying not to look at my welts. "Please sit down. I'll never hurt you, baby...I just want to check your eyes" His voice is soft almost sad. I slowly sit on the bed,
"I don't know why or how, but I know I trust you and I know what you say about us being married and our family... feels right, but..." He rests his hand on my face and tears stream down my face.
"Shhh, baby girl." He pulls me into his chest as I cry. He must be a lot taller than me, my head barely comes to the middle of his chest. "If we can't regain your memories when we go home, We'll overcome what they did to you and make new memories. I've done it once and I'll do it again."
"again?" I ask looking up. He nods and takes a deep breath.
"When I first met you, you were the first wife of Lord Spiram before he was anything. He would abuse and starve you treated you, his queen, as a servant. But I always looked out for you as much as I could, tending to your wounds sneaking you food. Finally, I helped him achieve what he wanted granting me any wish I wanted. I told him I wanted you. He tried sending me an exact copy of you but that's not what I wanted. I knew I wasn't going to be okay until I had you safe." His arms tighten around barely able to choke out his next words "I went insane when you disappeared, it wasn't until 2 weeks later a band of messengers came with a list of demands and descriptions of the torture they were putting you through." He swipes my hair from my face before picking up the light. "Look up at me, I'm going to shine this light in your eyes and see if they're okay." He puts the light up to his face looking deeply into one eye at a time but he sighs, "Your malnutrition was so severe it reversed your LASIK surgery." putting the light back on the wall.
"My what?" I ask confused as he grabs the backpack again.
"Your eyes were really bad when you were born and you needed glasses. So once you got used to seeing clearly, I bought you a gift certificate for your birthday, so your eyes could be fixed." He takes out a purple box that looks like it hasn't been touched in who knows how long.
"So you're telling me im going blind?" He shakes his head.
"Your eyes have reverted, so your only as blind as you were born. These should help." He brings his hands up to my face and I flinch closing my eyes, before something wraps around my ears, sitting on my nose, but it doesn't hurt. I open my eyes and am completely taken back. Everything in the room is in such great detail, I don't know how to take it in at once. I look to Andy to thank him but stop dead in my tracks. His hair, his skin, and those Sapphire eyes.
"It's-it's you." I shake as I take his face in my hands. "You're the one that-"
"MOM!" My hands are stripped from Andy's face making me feel cold. I look up and think im seeing double vision, but one dressed in black with white, hair swiped to left and the other in white with black, hair swiped to the right. Andy smiles amused with my confusion.
"Twins baby."
"Twins...." I see myself with two slimy screaming babies on my bare chest before I snap back. "Fred...George...." fresh tears come to my eyes. "B-but I only remember when they were born-" The twins smile as they shake their heads.
"That's okay Mom." Says Fred in white.
"It's a good start." Says George in black.
"I didn't expect her to be up for a couple of days." Everyone turned to who looked like Andy but with dirty blonde hair and sky blue eyes like the twins.
"Oh give mom some credit Trav." Sass's Fred,
"Yeah, you act like she isn't the strongest out of us."
"Travis...." Another flashback to a little boy making his toy Goku and Batman fight. The twins stepped back letting their older brother sit next to me with a smile.
"Do you remember me, ma?" My gaze drops to my hands.
"I remember you playing with Goku and Batman dolls and two slimy babies screaming on my chest. But I don't understand why I draw a blank with your Dad." Andy shakes his head.
"It's okay."
"It's possible that you're remembering the memories of us that impacted you the most. You had a traumatic birth with the twins and I remember playing with you that day." I look down at the picture again.
"But you would think it would be easier with all the time I spent with him before you were born." Travis rakes his fingers through his hair.
"Probably too many to chose from. But, I was coming to tell Dad that Diana and Jeremy have finished everything for your return home, maybe being somewhere more familiar will help bring things back." He flicks his head toward the door. "Boys let's give mom some time before we head out." As our sons leave silence fell around the room while anger and frustration stir in my mind. I feel myself being lifted as my head is pushed into Andy's shoulder.
"I'm not mad honey. I understand this is out of your control." I feel his lips graze my forehead, making me calmer."You loved me at a time no one would, you gave me a family everything. I'm not going to let something like this drive us apart, we've been through worse." My body relaxes into him as I take a deep breath.
"I love you-" My hands fly to my mouth but a smile peeks past his lips, as he rests his cheek on my head.
"It's okay." His fingers play with my unruly curls before grabbing the backpack. He takes a hairbrush and gently combs through my mats. As my hair is being brushed I felt myself sink deeper into his body almost falling asleep. "I need the other side baby." I groan as switch sides feeling what's left of the lashes on my back. Andy sees my pain and exhales.
"What did they do to you, my love?" I shook my head slowly. "Let me see." I attempted to take the scrap of cloth I had for a shirt off, but my arms proved too weak. Andy gently helped before his face twisted in a mixture of pain and rage. my chest had three deep huge claw marks from some beast they forced me to fight, my back covered in fire whip lashes plus then taser pole marks on my neck.
"I'm ashamed-"
"Don't be." Andy snaps, "Anyone else would have died from this amount of torture."
"I don't feel like I'm someone who was that weak-"
"You're not weak Abigail." His face is serious, "Fred wasn't just talking out his ass. You are the most respected strongest warrior of our sector of the multiverse." His fingers glide through my hair down to the ends draped over my bare breasts before raising two fingers to his ear, his eyes never leaving mine. "Fred bring your mother new clothes." I caress his face with my fingertips.
"Andy..." I whisper realizing I've never spoken his name out loud. "I know your face. You're the one that kept telling me I have to survive." He takes my hand from his skin kissing my palm.
"See you never forgot me." I cover my chest with my arms quickly as Fred walks in.
"So I picked out a lot," Fred notices me as he sets down two bags, c*****g a eyebrow with his hands on his hips. "Really mom, I'm gay as the day is long." Andy rolls his eyes,
"Okay, Fred give her some privacy to change." Fred's face went pale as he quickly nodded and scurried away.
"He saw my back didn't he..." He took the brush to the other side of my head as he nodded.
"It's okay though, Diana will be able to mend your wounds. She's an amazing girl." He smiled talking about Diana, a very proud father.
"Are all our children doctors?"
"Most have advanced themselves in medical fields but they're also immortal, so they study far into the cosmos."
"Why do you say most?" He sighs setting the brush down rubbing his forehead.
"Our youngest Lyanna was born after we were put in charge of our universe from Spiram, and as he wanted to keep an eye on you, Lyanna thought he was a toy finding a soft spot in him. As she grew he trained her to fight and is now second in command."
"But he..." He nodded again.
"He changed I don't know how or why, but I think the innocence of a baby changed him. She didn't know who he was or what he did to you and didn't care what power he possessed, he was her best friend." I look away to the bags and point.
"Can you pick something, my body still hurts." Whatever they gave me is wearing off as my body aches and screams in pain.
"Of course." He touches his finger back to his ear, "Travis bring your mom pain meds, they're wearing off." Andy opens the bags and grabs a light grey tank top and sweatpants. "Loose fit will feel better. Are you going to need help?" I nod before he slips the tank top over my head. As I slip my arms through Andy goes to slip off my ragged pants, I gasp as my eyes grow wide, jerking his hand back.
"I'm not going to do anything to you, I'm here to help." They slip away as if they wear nothing revealing more scars on my thighs and ankles. Andy's eyes start getting red and puffy trying desperately to hold his tears while slipping on my pants. These clothes are so clean and soft. Andy wipes his eyes before wrapping me in a desperate tight hug. He's probably imagining what horrible vile things they've done to me.
"Hey, guys-" Travis stops dead in his tracks seeing his father's face. "Dad-" Andy shakes his head violently.
"Just make her feel better!" He demanded.
"Okay...um Mom," He smiles at me. "I'm going to give you more of that pain killer I did earlier, but it will put you to sleep but when you wake up, You'll be at home." Travis injects the IV with a syringe while Andy silently snobs in my hair.
