“I’m sorry, but without the burned-out car or frame, we can’t process your claim,” he answered in a monotone voice as if reading ingredients from a food label.
“But, if my car was stolen, I’d have no proof of that, and you guys would cover it?” She ground her teeth to quell the escalating anger at her insurance’s insistence on the impossible.
“Of course. Car theft is a different situation. But, your car wasn’t stolen.”
She closed her eyes and blew out a breath. “No, it was struck by lightning and burned to nothingness.”
“I’m sorry, but without evidence and the remains of the car, there’s nothing more that we can do.” He hung up.
