From a young age I had learnt the true meaning of pain. Physical pain, emotional pain and all sorts of pain I was well accustomed to them.
After a while it was a feeling I got used to and stopped hurting eventually.
But one can never get used to pain. I learned that the day Liam knocked on my door in the middle of the night dripping blood on my white carpet.
"What the hell happened to you,"I ask him as soon as he got in. I help him to the couch where he lies pain written all over his face.
"We were in the castle, visiting the king all four of us when we were suddenly attacked. Th... they're all d.. dead Mal,"he says.
I gasped in disbelief.
"What are you saying Liam,who... who died?"
The king, Lord Gamma, Lord Alpha, the Ravkhas, everyone is dead Mal. They're all dead,"he says earning him a series of blood coughs.
I lost words to say. I couldn't believe that the most powerful mages were dead.
"Look Liam, I'm going to heal you and then we can talk alright,"I say.
"No Mal, you have to leave this place. You have to run and go far away, they're also coming for you."
"But I can't leave you like this,"I say sobbing dryly.
"Please Mal,"he says placing his bloody hand on my cheek.
"I- I can't,"I say my voice drowned in my sobs.
*************
The door was knocked once again this time harder.
"You have to leave fast. Go and find the mage prince in Boar. I love you Mal,"he says and closes his eyes.
I couldn't even mourn my brother from the hard knocks on the door. I gave him a kiss on the forehead and ran to my room to get my sword.
BANG!!
"Check upstairs,"I heard a cold voice say.
I opened my balcony door and grabbed my sword, before I could grab the rest of my stuff,a tall buff man walked in.
