“I have just learned that Luna Melissa went to see Vicky earlier…”
My pen halted midway through signing the document. I gradually set it down onto the desk, the mention of Melissa’s name stealing my attention away.
“What happened?” I demanded, my brows drawing together.
Did they argue? Did Melissa demand that we stop the surrogacy?
“She confronted Vicky regarding the surrogacy plan,” he reported. “She didn’t oppose it. In fact, she agreed.”
I slowly leaned back in my chair and exhaled deeply. My chest suddenly felt lighter, as if a thorn stuck in my throat had been pulled free.
“I see…”
