I scoffed. “Why are you defending her?” I hissed.
He released a sigh. “It’s not like that,” he denied.
“Stop making excuses for your Luna,” I shot back sarcastically. “Whatever her reasons were, she still left.”
His lips pressed into a thin line. He looked away, conflicted. Perhaps he no longer knew how to defend his friend.
“If she truly cared about this pack, she wouldn’t have abandoned it,” I said flatly.
Silence fell between us for several seconds before Warren decided to break it.
“Have you and Alpha Liam talked again about proceeding with the surrogacy plan since he decided to call it off?” he asked.
