Lambert’s POV.
Most often say that an Alpha should be feared. I don’t entirely agree with that belief. Fear was easy to earn. Any Alpha with authority could force others into obedience. But to me, respect is more important than fear.
If pack members follow me only because they are afraid, then that isn’t true loyalty. But if they follow me because they trust me, they will be willing to stay even during the darkest times.
After all, an Alpha’s duty wasn’t limited to protecting his pack from outside threats. He should listen to his people as well. He should know each one of them. He should make them feel that they are more than just warriors or pack members— they stand together as one.
It was a principle I had tried to uphold every day since becoming the Alpha of Star Rock Pack.
