Marcus nodded in agreement. “Beta Theo is right, Alpha. For all we know, someone could have deliberately left her here.”
“What if she’s being used to lure us into a trap?” another warrior spoke up. “What if she’s an assassin? Or a spy sent by another Alpha?”
“And what if whoever attacked her is following her? What if she escaped from another pack after committing a crime? We could end up inviting our enemies through our own gates if we bring her inside Star Rock.”
“She could be bait,” another added. “Rogues have done worse. What if she might have accomplices waiting for us to lower our guard before they attack?”
All of those sounded reasonable. If our positions were reversed, I would have questioned the decision as well.
