Chapter 1 - Scum Men!

1036 Words
“What a shame and disgrace…” Warren Jaroenchai Wachirawit Wang! That was the name of the owner of such words said to Valerie, which she screamed at her heart… She knew that name and man from a Chinese-Thai family so well. He was the one who after her father possessed the big shares of the Bennet company, and upon processing his words, she got extremely annoyed with her frustrated how like Allan, he had more power over her family’s company than her! Scum men! She wished she could get rid of all of them from her life! But, perhaps, it would be better to go back in time a little bit to understand what was going on… “Where is he?! Where is Allan?! WHERE IS HE?!” A desperate version of Valerie brideself asked about her groom, walking through the room with difficulty due to her glamorous white dress. Tears overwhelmed the hazel-blue eyes, adorned with enough make-up, matching her gorgeous styled dark brown hair, whose locks got loose as the young woman rushed outside. Valerie didn't care about anything else, she just wanted to find Allan after hearing the talk between one of her bridesmaids and the wedding planner. The man had been seen sharing kisses with his assistant in the hallways, all the way down to the limousine that would take the newly wedded couple to their honeymoon destination later, instead of waiting for his bride at the altar. “Allan! Allan! ALLAN, WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE?!” As soon as she opened the limousine door, Valerie’s heart was immediately broken upon seeing that the wedding planner wasn't lying to her friend as she met the man with the foxy female over him. Her slim dress was more like a shirt now, leaving her long legs fully exposed, and her short hair was wholly messy like her lipstick that adorned Allan’s lips too. Some could be found on his bare chest as well, and nothing about him indicated that he was someone who was about to get married in a couple of minutes. He ruined the fairytale that was their romance as if it were nothing, forgetting all the sweet moments from their teenage years. Allan and Valerie met in their junior year in high school, and it didn't take much for something to start between them afterward. He was a football player, and she was a cheerleader. In the following year, many thought their relationship would end after their parents got together and they two became step-siblings. Nevertheless, since they were already together before the older couple met, their parents allowed Allan and Valerie to keep dating as long as they respected their house, and didn't do anything inappropriate under the same roof as them. Something quite funny for the young couple’s friends, who were both shocked and happy for them upon hearing such news, joking they couldn't wait for their wedding invitation after their graduation as it would be more romantic than celebrities' weddings in their words. And… they didn't have any idea of how correct they were, even if they didn't imagine how dramatic it would turn out to be… “Allan, what are you doing?!” At that moment, the man heard his mother’s voice, a s**t escaped his lips, and Valerie was astonished upon seeing it concerned him more than she, his fiancé and bride, having got him with his lover together during their wedding. Val was speechless, broke in more ways than she could describe. Completely ruined on what should have been the best day of her life, and Allan didn't seem to care while her makeup was beyond repair due to all of her tears. So, how… How should he treat her like that?! “You! You- I treated you like a son! I trusted my daughter with you!” Like the members of his family, William Bennet was shocked by what he saw, even more, shocked at seeing how the woman in the arms of his future son-in-law was one of the shareholders of his company’s daughter. The familiar face was someone he would often invite to his house and parties with her parents, like more than half of the other guests who were there for that grand wedding, which should go down in history as the greatest one of the year. Everyone should recall the gorgeous bride that Valerie was, the happy parents along with them in the pictures, and the groom full of love that only had eyes for her. A dream beyond the insane reality they witnessed among all the important guests they had invited. What a turn of events!!! The beautiful movie-like romance became a nightmare, and the bride’s father wasn't able to handle the betrayal of her groom, who ran away with his lover in the car that William had hired for Valerie’s big day. “Dad! Dad! DADDY!” Tears completely ruined the young woman’s beautiful face as she called for her father when fell to the ground. Both Valerie and her step-mom desperately called for the older man, asking anyone there to call an ambulance, putting a more dramatic taste to all the events of the day. And, as the sirens announced the departure of the Bennet family’s patriarch, barely were those that remained at the local, witnessing the last moments of the young lady befell in high society. Shame was already stamped on her face, while Valerie’s story was being retold by several people and newspapers all over the place, taking over the number one spot online in searches about the tragic wedding… Some even speculated how it would affect her family’s company since Allan got his CEO position after their engagement happened and William Bennet decided to retire, hoping for grandchildren to play with soon. Sweet dream, the older man had on his way to the hospital once more, accompanied by his wife, leaving behind his sad daughter all alone while the pondering rain helped to drive the remaining guests away as the lone bride remained on the ground. No one was capable of making Valerie move after the ambulance left at first, so she stayed there… Along with her regrets and broken heart.
