“L…look at me”. The words left her lips quietly. “Do you see the body of a child?”.

And it was only then that his dark gaze flickered from the entrancing orange flames burning in the hearth to hers.

Her heart fell to the pit of her stomach as his gaze raked over her bare body slowly to take in the view of her full bosom to her flat stomach, her slim waist down to the voluptuous curve of her hips and her shapely legs, she tried her best to keep herself from trembling visibly; tried her best to appear confident and sure of what she was doing.

Her heart pounded heavily as he continued to stare at her, his silence was unnerving, and the nervousness sought to kill her. Her bosom rose and fell heavily with every breath she took until her breaths begun to falter and she begun to feel faint.

He spoke at last.

Thirteen years has passed and Aria has grown being unaware of the fact that she was married to Alder, a regal, but aloof and domineering man who just wasn’t the king of their people but also her master who had trained her in the ways of the elements all her life. And though she sees him as a high and unreachable goal she can’t help but be attracted to him, she can’t help but want to try her very best to impress him, to get him to not see her as the child he thought her to be.

Meanwhile, Alder continues to lead his people and somehow make enough time to train Aria who he sees as a pupil and responsibility. However, he begins to pay more attention to her when he notices her drastic change towards him, and things take a dramatic turn when Aria turns eighteen and finds out that there's more to their relationship than just being master and Disciple.

“Hunting the Phae was my greatest mistake..…”. Thane spoke quietly. Sitting there on his throne, he had never felt more defeated; he felt his own life dwindling, slowly but surely. He stared down at his trembling hands before he once again raised his head to face the full court. “I will not recover from this ailment, we’re all aware of that”. He told them. “Your majesty, there might be a method we haven’t explored”. One of his ministers spoke up and the others agreed with him immediately. They were all unwilling to accept that their king would be dying soon, sooner than one would think. “There is no other way”. Thane said almost tiredly. “They will never have my dear child”. The Phae had been a magical creature that dwelled in the woods of Aethia, and it had been unintentionally killed by the king during a hunting spree. The guardians of their lands had then declared that the Phae’s life had to be repaid with another, and the life of the princess had been chosen, causing her to take ill. Of course, Thane and his people had been unable to watch the little princess suffer. Thus, the king had offered his own life instead. Thane dragged in a shuddering breath when the trembling of his hand spread through his entire body, his heart began to pound hardly and his breath began to falter. And Alder, the young commander of the royal Army, who had been standing behind him, placed his hand on his shoulder to calm him. He had probably used magic or it was simply just the bond that existed between the two that caused his erratic heartbeats to return to normal. He dragged in a deep breath before speaking once more. “Alder, son of Oak, will marry my daughter, Arya, before I die”. He declared. The two had already been betrothed. They were to be married when Aria was of age, but he was running out of time and Aethia would be in need of a new king. He felt Alder’s hand on his shoulder stiffen immediately. “He is to become the next king of Aethia”. He continued. And the court fell to their knees in complete acceptance. “They shall be married at dusk”. That was the last thing he said before dismissing the court. And left alone with Alder, he took off his gloves to reveal his blackened veins which mapped around his hands like crawling vines. “You will say nothing?”. He asked Alder. “About your hands or what you just declared, your majesty?”. Alder in turn asked. And Thane chuckled quietly. He shook his head. “You will be king of Aethia come dawn tomorrow”. He told him. “I can tell I won’t make it passed the night”. Alder’s eyes widened slightly. “Your majesty…”. He said. Thane inclined his head to look up at him, he smiled fondly. Alder was the son of his closest friend, who had been the most powerful sorcerer that ever existed in the realm; he loved him as his own from the very day he had been born. “Do right by Aria”. He told him. “This is my last request of you”. Alder stared down at him for a moment before nodding the unspoken promise.
