Chapter 10

Eve Dom went ahead and took a seat on the empty stool next to me. Out of all the empty spots, he decides to sit next to the new girl. How cliche of his. “Well, thank you. I'll just sit here and enjoy my shots. I’m not gonna bother you. I can tell you ain’t the type to be bothered with today”, looking over to see a cocky smirk on his face. "He is such a cliche", I said to myself. I just nodded my head at him, hoping he would stop talking to me. But I had a feeling he wouldn’t. He is just gonna keep pushing until I give in, and at some point he will say something that will make me punch him in the god d*** throat. I take a sip of the drink Lotto made for me. Wow, this s*** is good. I don’t really drink unless it's wine. But this cocktail is great. I taste a bit of fruity and vodka at the same time. “ I can tell you don’t drink that offend," Dom said. “I’m more of a stay at home and drink wine girl." Still not making eye contact with him. “Well, if you want a good wine, Lotto does have a small collection. But that's not for random customers,” giving me a side look. But I can feel him smiling as well and I fight the urge to look. “ Mmhh uh.” I just wanna enjoy my cocktail, clear my mind and go home. “So tell me something. For someone who doesn’t drink liquor. What got you in here today? Boyfriend, husband or my I say girlfriend?” Turning to me try to make me look at him as he takes a shot.“What make you think i’m here because of someone huh?” Turning my full body at him. Giving him all my attention now.As I turn my body to get a full look at him, I notice he is really really cute. Even cuter than Lotto. Dom was tall too, but hey, everyone is tall to me. He had nice cleaned groomed eyebrows. And you can see he had a few tattoos with his sleeves rolled up above his elbows. And by his shirt is a bit tight where it hugs his body well. I can see the outline of his muscles. I tell you he probably has a six pack underneath that shirt. He had his hair a bit slick back like he had been off to a dance or something. Dress nicely too, very clean for a big guy.. Like one of those guys from the movies. And with a an husky accent to top it off, wow. I didn’t hear it at first, but now that I’m facing him and paying more attention to what his intention is to get me to talk about my issues. I can hear a slight accent when he speaks. It’s one of those accents that most women say, they are so sexy and it drives them crazy. Leaving you wanting to jump on them. Because not only are the guys drop dead sexy, but the accent just makes them even more sexy. If that was even possible. Dom was just built to break heart. I'll let him break a hip or two.“Because it’s not night yet and normally a STAY AT HOME GIRL will be at home and not at a random bar,” putting his fingers up quoting some words. “Or maybe I’m here because I wanted to try something new for once.” Giving him a slight smile with a hint of tone too.“Mmhh yeah maybe.”giving me a smirk back. With a little laugh. I tried to hide my smile but failed. “ What's so funny huh”, raising an eyebrow at him. “Nothing, I just like a girl who finds a way to tell a guy to shut up. And your funny too. Cute and funny I like it." Taking another shot and smiling at me to respond. “You don’t even know me. How can you like me out of 5 minutes? But I guess you do this all the time with girls coming in and out of here. So listen up, I got way too much s*** on my plate to have you in it. Okay.” Raising an eyebrow at him and placing my hand hard on the table. You tell him girl. We don’t need another good looking guy to come in here to just f*** it up even more. “I don’t know, there is just something about you I like. I know it is crazy because we just hardly met. And no,” placing his hand next to mine and leaning forward as well.“No what!” I was starting to get annoyed at him. Why is he so into my life? There were a ton of other girls here he could go and talk to. Why did he come and bother me? “No, I don’t normally hit on pretty girls and talk to them. I do come here a lot because my friend owns the bar. But I do keep to myself. I had one really bad breakup and coming here was my go to place. I feel safe here.” Turning back around and signing to Lotto that he needed a drink. But, how his face changed when he brought up his break-up. I can tell it hit him hard. I wonder what had happened. But it seems to take a lot from him. She badly broke his heart and it still bothered him. “May I ask what happened, why you guys broke up?” Putting a hand on his shoulder. And giving him a smile. Letting him know is okay to talk. “Not much to say besides. I was young and stupid. I shouldn’t have been so naive.” Not looking at me, just the drink Lotto had in place in front of him.“It’s okay to talk about it. I read somewhere that talking to someone you hardly know can help ease your pain. It’s like a free therapist.” Still having my hand on his shoulder, but I gave him a light squeeze. And I heard a soft sigh. “Well, we dated for awhile and I was gonna propose to her. I had everything set up and everything. But a few hours before, she confessed to me about how unhappy she was and that she was leaving me for one of her's most closest friends. I was devastated after that and I ended most nights here. I drank a lot at first, but then I learned to just let it go. It was just a lesson to learn. She just wasn’t the one for me.” He finally turned back around to look at me as he told me his story.“Yeah I remember that, a real b****.” Lotto said as he refilled my cup. “Ohh wow, I’m sorry. She must be a real b**** for doing that. She really didn’t deserve you.” Giving him a look with a slight smile. Wow, I can’t believe that happened to him. I would have gone crazy if something like that had happened to me. It might already be happening to us, remember. Don’t forget how we ended up at this bar in the first place. Mark, the card, Cami! As the thought of Mark's affair, my face changed quickly and it seemed to catch Dom off guard. “Hey, don’t worry about me. Lesson learn right. I told myself the next woman I got with would be the one. I hope." Letting out a hoping smile at me. “Well, the same happened to me.” Dom looked up to show how he has his ears open to listen.“Well, I just found out about my husband's affair and I was gonna confront the women but I didn’t.” Taking a sip of my drink. “Did you talk to him about it?” Do asked “I tried, kind of. But he dismissed me. He got angry and just walked out. He doesn’t normally get angry, but I know he has a temper, so when he does, I just shut up.” Not taking my eyes off my glass, I felt every emotion trying to take over. “Does he take his anger out on you?” Dom tilt his head a little to get a look at my face. Like he was looking for signs of abuse.“No, he never touched me like that. But I have known him since high school and he was a little troublemaker. He would get into these bad fights. I would never see them but when I heard about them. I would go see him afterwards and he would have blood on his clothes. Not his blood.” I looked up to see Dom with wide eyes. I don’t even know why I just said that. I don’t know what it was but.. I don't know. “He seems to have a bad temper. I’m glad he doesn’t try to lay a hand on you.” Dom had a nice and sooth voice.“Yeah, sorry I talked your ear off. I shouldn’t have told you all that, I'm sorry.” Letting a small curled smile from a corner of my face,“No, you're good. I told you something serious and you returned with another.” Dom took another shot. After that, we started talking about other stuff for hours. And honestly, it was nice to talk to someone. It has been awhile, to just have someone where you can just spill stuff out. I normally don’t make friends that fast. But Dom seems like a really nice guy. I felt something, I guess secure maybe. He was a bit older than me. So he had stories about crazy stuff. He even had stories about how he visited different countries. We just chatted for so long I didn’t notice it was dark outside. It was odd, it was like I had known him for years and we talked crazy stories all night. I had this weird feeling inside that warmed up and down my body when I saw him smile and laugh. It was weird. I like his laugh. It wasn’t a laugh, laugh, or horsey one neither. But a nice and cute laugh. One of those that make you laugh because their laughing. I got what she meant, because whenever he smiled, I smiled. And when he laughed, I laughed. We just connected really well. He made me forget all about Mark. Some moments, our hands would sometimes grace each others pinky and I felt a spark. I don’t know what it meant, but I ignored it. I thought it was just the drink I had. And Dom didn’t react to the touch either. Dom is very cute and I felt like I could trust him with all my secrets. I know that is odd. We just met but there was something about him. I just don’t know what it was. You like him Eve. I’m married! I’m not gonna say anything. You know what that feeling is. I don’t know what you are talking about. Mhh okay sure. *beepp* I looked at my phone and saw Mark had texted me something. I flipped my phone around, not wanting to look at it. The last person I wanted to talk to was him. But I noticed it was getting late. “Is that problem texting you?” Dom glanced at my phone while sipping his beer.“Yeah, its a bit complicated at the moment. But I do need to go. It’s late. Thank you for chat Dom.” As I got up to leave and pay for my drink. Dom grabs my hand and looks into my eyes. Right away I had this bubbly feeling in my belly. Ohh did I mention he has those hazel eyes that are just so d*** cute. I know he just got it all going on. Mmhh huh. I want a piece of that. I’lll let him put some whip cream on me and lick it off. Shhhe brain d***. As if you weren’t thinking about it. I am your brain after all. “You never told me your name?” Looking ever so cute as he waited for a response. I exhaled softly, trying to hide the redness coming over my cheeks.“Its Eve." I spoke lightly. “Eve." F*** when he said my name my body tingled. What the h*** is going on with me? "Eve, nice to meet you. I hope to see you here again.” I saw a spark shine in his eye as he said my name. I felt that tingle go up my spine and invaded in my veins. “Nice to meet you too, Dom. ” we shared one last smile. I then thanked Lotto for his service. I looked over my shoulder one last time and walked out. Headed to my car and drove back home.
