Who is your father ?" I heard him ask when two of us were finally alone.
“Alpha Roid Wright" I answered with a tiny voice. I was shocked that my voice could be that low.
“That means you are Princess Zoe"
"Please don't add the title. Just Zoe"
“Zoe. Zoe. Zoe" he called while looking at me with a smile on his face.
"Yeah, I am" I said coyly. I loved the way my name rolled out of his tongue then I heard him chuckle and boy, that voice. It was really going to be the death of me.
"This is going to be fun" I heard him whisper.
"Whats going to be fun?" I asked him in turn. He had an upside smile on his face and it made him so f*****g attractive. He looked like a man straight out from an anime manga. From afar, he looked like Gojo Saturo except he had red eyes but that was enough to make him stand out.
"Let us go. I can't wait to introduce you to him. That reminds me" I said as I dragged him along.
"I don't know your name".
A smile lit up his face with a gaze full of laughter as if waiting for me to ask him that question.
"Finally you asked" he chuckled "My name is Alexander Anderson. But you can call me Xander"
"I think I love Xander more" I smiled.
"Then Xander it is" he said and smiled while we both left or rather I dragged him off.
We got to the main hall and I saw mum and dad sitting in front while blessing those who had found their mate. Out of excitement, I called out to them.
"Mama, Papa" I yelled as I dragged Xander with me. He on the other hand had no choice to follow.
"I found him, I found my mate" I exhaled as I stood in front of them while catching my breath.
"Next time, let's walk slowly from now on, okay. We wouldn't want to be out of breath all the time" Xander said with a tone of indulgence.
"Okay" I replied with a smile and turned to face my parents but I was shocked to see their face marred with anger. I was surprised because that was not within my expectations. They were meant to be happy for me. Not angry and definetly not downcasted.
"Papa, what's wrong?" I asked sullen.
"Alexander, what are you doing wjth my daughter?" Dad asked ignoring my questions.
"Well as ahe said, she's my mate" Xander said with a serious yet mockful tone. It didn't take much for tension to fill the air.
"Hmm, mate it is. Then reject that bond. I refuse for my daughter to be associated with one of your kind" Dad said angrily.
"Papa noo!!!" I shouted as I stood in front of Xander. I didn't know him that long but I knew better than to let him go. Xander circled his arms around my waist and looked with a gaze that seemed to say ' Your daughter wants me, who are you to refuse'.
"Sorry to say this, Alpha Roid, but I refuse this request. I may fufill other desires of yours provided they are within my power but I won't refuse neither shall I reject my mate" Xander replied in a calm tone.
"Besides, we both know for how long I have waited for her to appear for the second time. So you should be grateful it's your daughter. I don't need to remind you of the events of the past now, do I, Alpha Roid or should I say, dearest father-in-law?
I was thoroughly confused on what was going on. What past? What second time? And why did dad look so downcast after hearing Xander's words. Why do I feel that there was more to the picture than meets the eye.
"We both know that what happened was an accident" Dad said after some time.
"Just an accident?" Xander said with a snicker. "Just an accident and yet she was killed, her parents and every other person in her bloodline? An accident that miraculously made you the Alpha. Why do you underestimate me Roid? I called off the attack on your pack because of the minor consideration that my mate may be here, and now that I found her, I don't think there's any other part you will be deemed useful"
I wanted to say something but nothing came to my mind. I wanted to know the 'her' they were talking about. Ehat has she got to do with me. And why was Mum suddenly infuriated at the mere mention of the woman they were talking about. And moreover, why do I feel like Xander had that woman in his heart. Does he actually....... love her?
"According to protocol, I am to wed my woman here in your pack so I advice you to make sure everything goes smoothly so I can be able to leave with her soonest"
"As you wish" This was the first time I saw dad concede to another person's request.
"Now if you will please excuse us, I would like to get to talk with my little one to know her more" Xander said and held my arm to walk out of her hall. I looked back at dad intending to go to him till I saw him nod his head and smile as permission to follow Xander before I could finally leave the hall willingly.
