Chapter 3

615 Words
Every girl dreams of having the perfect man. Some girls wants a tall rich man meanwhile others long for a man with big libido just like Phoebe. But if you were to ask me, I don't know what I want. Three year old me wanted a vampire, five year old me wanted a prince, seven year old me wanted a king then fifteen year old me wanted a tribid: part demon, part wolf and part vampire. Powerful yet mysterious in his own way. Now if you were to ask twenty year old me, then it's blank. All I want is a man who will take care of me, love me, be there for me, understand me. Was it really too much to ask for? Money is important yes, but what was the need for money when you have to spend the rest of your life with a scheming partner. I wasn't even the materialistic type of person, so I didn't need the money. I just needed him. Whoever he was, wherever he may be. “What are you doing awake by this time, Amor?" I looked back to see mum standing at the door, which shocked me because I was already used to her impromptu barging in into my room whenever she felt like it. “You can come in Mama" “You haven't answered my question yet. Why you still up? You were meant to be asleep" “Nothing mama. I'm just not sleepy yet I guess" “Are you thinking about the mating ceremony?" “Mama don't get me wrong. I try not to think about it. But the more I try, the more it pops up in my head. The mating ceremony is tomorrow. What if I don't find him? What if am not good enough for him? What if he rejects me? What if...." “Enough of the panicking and the what if's. You demean yourself a lot sweetie. You are stong. Wise. Beautiful and the best of it all, you have a good heart. You are compassionate. I have seen how you treat the people of this pack and it's enough for me to know that you will be the best mate anyone could ever dream of. If that's not being good enough, then I don't know what is" “How do you always know the right words to say mama?" I said as I finally calmed down. But it was no lie, mum had a sugary mouth that could tell the best tales. “Years of practice" she said and chuckled. “Can I ask you something?" “Sure sweetie. Ask away" “How did you know?" “Know what?" “That dad was the one. How did you know he was your mate?" “Why are you asking that?" She said nervously. For a split second, I noticed she was very scared and very hesitant in answering the question, which made me recall one of the visions I had. Something was not right with their relationship but what it was, I was still yet to find out. But somehow I had a feeling it was related to the third person in my visions. “Forget it mummy. I will just be open to anything I see that day". I couldn't possibly believe anything she would say at this point considering how flustered and annoyed she was to answer the question. I also knew whatever she would say at this point will be a lie. So why not spare myself the drama. Mum left and I got ready for bed. But I still couldn't sleep. How could I when I get to find my other half the next day.
